We will go through every step of sewing a denim quilt using squares cut from old jeans to completing the project: Cut up jeans, cut out squares, lay out pattern, stack squares in easy to sew (or transport) order, sew a line of squares, join line sections, add edging, select and prepare backing, attach backing, invert and close, bar tack or stitch in the ditch to complete. You will leave with a quilt laid out in a pattern and carefully stacked so that you can take the pieces to a machine and quickly assemble a quilt face and then back it, using only straight stitching on a simple machine. This is for people who machine sew but may have only the absolutely most basic and simple skills.

On a snow day over 20 years ago I sewed a denim quilt from ready cut squares and had it finished and on my daughter's bed by the end of the day. (She is still using it!) The quick gratification was so satisfying I was hooked and have made over 30 since then. They now warm the beds of family and friends.
