Hike a forested river to two waterfalls thundering through the most picturesque sanctuary then sip in the old stone and wood barn of a rustic winery. Enjoy lunch at a friendly family-run vineyard then sample in two more warm and spirited tasting rooms. (Four wineries total). While we're not out to get saucy we're definitely in the mood to have a good time. So drift from the world, breathe in the trees, socialize with good folks and toast life - all at the same time! - Tasting fees $0-$5 CAD per winery waived with purchase of a bottle - Rain, snow or shine always a good time - More pictures: facebook.com/hikeandwine - Feel free to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy stream-side - Half-day version: airbnb.ca/experiences/655392 - Accessible from Toronto by Go Bus
Fortunate enough to have worked In Yosemite National Park and Oregon I've guided groups to some of the most transcendent trees, peaks, rivers, hot springs and waterfalls. Locally I’ve hiked 150 kilometers of the Bruce Trail, part of which is part of this experience. I’m continually on the hunt for hidden rivers and homey wineries and savor deeply the respite taken from these tonics. And while the word "professional" is rarely ascribed to me the word "personable" most definitely is. One guest reviewed me to be "the friend you haven't met yet in Niagara" but remember: she'd been sipping all day.
