Join us as we explore Biscayne Bay and its diverse wildlife. Harnessing the power of the wind, we visit sandbars, swim, snorkel or explore mangroves and islets. @SaltyMiami is the only sailing experience in Miami that's 100% powered by the wind, that's right! no engines.
We'll appreciate Florida’s unique ecosystem, all while having fun and learning. There is something in the bay for everyone, so we'll be watching for possible sightings of dolphins, manatees, starfish or amazing sunsets. We'll literally let the wind take us :)
We'll spend about 3 hours on the water. We can sail out in the morning or later in the day to catch the sunset. We have some healthy snacks ready and water, but you can bring your own drinks and snacks too.
Bring swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and water shoes, if possible. A set of dry clothes is recommended to change after our sailing session.
After scheduling your experience I'll msg you to confirm. Weather can be unpredictable, so in exceptional cases, we may need to reschedule for a later/earlier time or day. I'll ensure we communicate this clearly and as soon as possible so everyone is on the same page. Please understand scheduling changes is to ensure you have the best possible experience. Solo passengers will be assigned to join other parties.

We are Juan Pablo and David. We have been running this highly popular Airbnb sailing adventure for more than a year, the only one in Miami that's 100% powered by the wind.
We met through our passion for the ocean and have created @SaltyMiami (lnstagram) to share the amazing experience of wind travel with others.
We've been sailing the Biscayne Bay for more than a decade with our STEM Youth Sailing program and have been lucky to explore many of its wonders over the years. From sandbars & mangroves to wildlife & islets and the amazing Stilstville.
We are passionate about sharing Miami’s hidden gems with our guests and would love to share this experience with you to show the natural side of Miami.
David has 22 years of sailing experience, licensed by the US Sailing Association.
Juan Pablo has 10 years of sailing experience and licensed.

There is something in the Bay for everyone, when the wind is good we can go anywhere. Usually, we go to the Cape Florida Lighthouse and we stop by Nixon Sandbar. We will also show you the abandoned houses of Stiltsville in Biscayne Bay, lots of history. If you want to visit an island, we'll go to Dinner Key islands park. Obviously, we'll show you a few secret spots but it all depends on the wind conditions.

Juan aka JP is the coolest, most genuine adventurer I’ve ever met! He is so respectful and laid back. He made sure we enjoyed our trip and had fun. Going out to the sandbar and being able to see the sea sponges under water was one of the coolest things ever. He showed me how to drive the boat and he actually let me drive it. I was super excited. Juan is the best tour guide, welcoming, friendly and def knows a ton about sailing! We had a wonderful time in the ocean.
Juan was making sure that we all were having a good time, he took amazing photos, constantly checked in with us, he even has white claw and delicious coconut cookies in the cooler. Nothing can be better than drinking white claw while watching a beautiful sunset.
I also tried Trapeze on the sailboat, the waves were rough but exciting. Juan provided detailed and comprehensive instructions on how to Trapeze and, even though I was constantly throwing over by the wave, I still enjoyed it a lot.
Def recommend it to everyone who wants to have a chill and exciting experience in the ocean!
