First up I will give you your chiller bag to collect the meal ingredients included in the tour, the wine and any other shopping you might want to do. My tour takes you to my favourite stalls in the market where we will meet the stall holders, hear their stories and try some of their specialty produce that I have organised for you. Tastings include local artisan made cheese, yoghurt, honey, almonds and wild game meats and indigenous herbs. Then the real fun starts when we visit the stalls that have prepared your meal. You get to choose the wine, olives and cake to take home that are included in the tour. My friend Michelle is a seafood expert and she has collated the freshest seafood in the market. The SA seafood platter is ready to pick up then onto the best cake shop in the market, it has dozens of freshly made homestyle cakes to choose from. The stall will package them up for safe keeping in your chiller bag. The hardest part is choosing. Then I will take you to the Wine Cellars to meet my wine mate to select your fave style of South Australian wine to take home. Now what wine goes best with fresh seafood?

My 1 hour tour takes you on a sensory interactive gourmet experience that traverses the market giving you a snapshot view of the incredible range of small family businesses that make up the 80 multicultural stalls. I will show you my favourite shops, meet some of my foodie friends and give you a rundown on great places to visit and things to do while you are in Adelaide. But my foodie tips come first. This was truly a wonderful experience. Cheryl knows the marketplace history and has so many lovely anecdotes, that you can't help but become completely immersed.

Cheryl’s tour of the market was fabulous. She’s very easy going, fun and quite knowledgeable of the market’s history and has a good repport with specific vendors. The market can be quite overwhelming as a first time visitor so she made the experience much more pleasant and easier to navigate. We left with seafood, two bottles of wine and dessert.

Cheryl was awesome! It was so fun to walk through the market with her, learning the history and sampling food from different vendors. Cheryl has a great relationship with many vendors, knows them and their families personally, and clearly loves and respects them. Additionally, she know Adelaide and the surroundings so if you need advice on what to do or where to go she is a great resource. This was a fun and personal experience. We had a great time and time flew by!

Cheryl is a wealth of knowledge on the Adelaide Central Market. The tour was a great foodie adventure with Cheryl having a great understanding of the “go to” places being a local shopper there for many years.
She has a great relationship with many of the store owners, some of whom are related to the owners of shops when the market began in 1869. I got to sample many fine foods and even had a great take home pack consisting of seafood platter, bottle of wine, olives and a delicious slice of cake.
I only wish the tour was a little longer, there is so much to explore at the market. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend this tour for any foodie!
