“Huat Ah!” Understand the significance of Fortune, Prosperity and Luck in the everyday lives of the Chinese, and have your fortune told through your palm, birth date, or Mina the parakeet! Visit the famous Kwan Im (“Goddess Of Mercy”) Thong Hood Cho temple, and join me in seeking divine direction in life through fortune sticks and moon-blocks. Appreciate the role of Chinese deities and worship practices in the household as we explore the artifact shops full of charms, lucky stones and religious wares. Sit down with a fortune teller and have your fortune told by the ancient practice of palmistry, “Bazi” (derived from the moment in time of your birth), or even parrot astrology. Listen to stories of how multi-national corporations in Singapore used Feng Shui or geomancy to improve their business or drive away bad luck, while we munch on some “lucky” local pastries or dessert. Ready to take a ‘peck’ into your future.....? **This experience will take about 2 - 2.5 hours (depending on the number of people in the group)

This area of Singapore dates back to the 1960s - the Bras Basah Precinct & Waterloo area - where locals still sit around and mingle and you will still find some old housing estates, good traditional food, places of worship and where the quirky part of Singapore remains. Group size is kept at 4 for a really intimate and small group experience.
Please understand that the vendors are street-side peddlars and we might not get to see all of them every time. This is a newly created experience, an extension of my other experience - "Live like a Local", please message if you do not see an availability for your preferred timing.
