We’ll take on an environmentalist perspective on my boat, seeking out the unique animals and plants of Biscayne Bay which are just steps from the hustle and bustle of the city.
We’ll look for crocodiles, manatees, dolphins, and other marine animals that inhabit Biscayne Bay. We’ll pass by Stiltsville, a neighborhood built on the shallow banks of Biscayne bay and I’ll explain the legends and history behind these homes.
Then we will stop at a small and quaint sandbar where we will scrape the sea grass with a net to discover and learn about the sea creatures that make up the South Florida marine ecosystem. Later we’ll travel to a very popular sandbar where you will have the opportunity to bathe and swim, and once we head back to shore you will have firsthand knowledge of the unique marine ecosystems that make up South Florida.
Furthermore, I would suggest that you bring a party of two or more as it makes our experience more enjoyable and if you are a single person you are welcome to hop on any trip that has two or more. Look forward to getting you out on the water.

I'm an environmentalist who was born and raised in Miami and has been fishing and diving since I was a child. This experience has made me passionate about sharing the beauty of South Florida with others. As an Assistant Principal and a certified captain I am able to convey my passion for our marine habitat. This experience places me in a unique position to provide my guests with the most authentic marine experience. Due to my life long devotion to protecting our oceans my friends refer to me as “Captain Planet”.

We'll be on the smooth waters of the Intracoastal Waterway under the skyline of Downtown Miami. We'll pass through Stiltsville, a unique town built on stilts, and Nixon, a sandbar popular for spotting wildlife.

Our four hours on the water with Chris were fantastic. He's a Miami native, a boating native, an avid sportsman, and an educator to boot. His equipment (25-ft center console / twin outboards) is in excellent shape, and he knows how to handle a boat in seas to get the most comfortable ride possible. He also knows the layout of the bay, and a lot of history of the area. As advertised in the itinerary, we got to hop out of the boat to wade with nets to study tiny marine life in sea grasses, as well as drop anchor on Nixon Beach sandbar to enjoy some swimming and people-watching. We also explored Stiltsville, and Hurricane Harbor on Key Biscayne. We saw dolphins, manatees, and lotsa birds. Chris is super-friendly, deeply knowledgeable, and absolutely a pleasure to boat with. If you want a low-stress, small-group boating experience in Biscayne Bay with an emphasis on wildlife and nature even in crowded urban environs, plus a lot of great tips on where to eat and visit in Miami and the Keys, this is your tour. A ridiculously great value. Ten of ten would do again!

Captain Chris was in contact to make sure we knew exactly where to go. The day on the Bay was beautiful. Perfect weather for us northerners. Although swimming would have been a bit chilly, the ecological experience was fine. It was a wonderful day with another nature buff who truly practices what he preached as we stopped a couple of times to pull trash from the water.
