I’ll bring its past and present alive for you, and help you make a few strokes yourself. • I’ll welcome you to my atelier, where you’ll find a completely filleted car. I’ll discuss the fascinating history and significance of fileteado, as well as my own artistic journey. • I’ll show you a wide range of works using a variety of objects and formats, as I share stories about the connections between fileteado and tango. • Try the technique yourself, making a few strokes on metal and wood with a classic long-haired brush. You’ll leave with a deep appreciation for this vital Buenos Aires tradition, as well as my recommendations for further exploring the city’s rich arts scene.

:: Please, check the language options by date before booking :: Discover Buenos Aires from an anthropological point of view. Don't expect to just walk and listen: be prepared to talk, make questions and discuss about the past, present and future of the Argentinean capital. Beginning in Lezama Park and ending in Casa Rosada, this walk offers you the chance to approach this beautiful city from its historical past in an attempt to understand its current present. Who were the first inhabitants? Why were the British so interested in this shores? Where is the African-descendant population? Where did all these white people come from? What is the deal with Evita and Perón? Who were the "desaparecidos" during the military dictatorship? And why do we have such a big problem with the US dollar? These are just some of the many questions we will try to answer in our walk through the most historical part of town. Please note that this tour may be slightly modified at the guide's discretion due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

(We receive bookings outside of Airbnb so our tours are usually 5-10 people) We’ll start at a distinctive spot in Palermo and then, we’ll walk through some local spots to explore the roots of the neighborhood before sampling wine and local tapas at a stunning restaurant. Next, we’ll head through Palermo’s main streets to a local staple, known as a “bodegón.” This restaurant has been in Palermo since the 1950s and was recently refurbished, allowing us to enjoy classic Argentine flavors with a modern twist. It’s a location rich in history and tradition. Our final stop will be a traditional Argentine “parrilla,” or steakhouse, where we’ll close the night with fantastic food. By the end, you’ll have tasted delicious food, enjoyed wonderful wine, and learned about Buenos Aires and Palermo in great company. If you have any dietary restrictions, let us know! We’ll accommodate your needs. Note: In case of heavy rain, we’ll cancel the tour and notify you in advance.

See the highlights and most important buildings of Buenos Aires and learn about its history riding our bikes. Learn about the curse of the architecs at the Opera house of Buenos Aires, the world famous Colon theatre. Get an introduction into the origins of Buenos Aires at Plaza de Mayo. Let's visit the newest neighborhood and the modern side of Buenos Aires at Puerto Madero. Go away from downtown to the tranquility of the largest green area in the city at south Costanera where we will taste "mate" ( the traditional tea ) with traditional sweet delicacies and typical snacks. Finally we will see the greatness of the Kirchner Cultural Center and on the way back through the financial district I'll tell you why we got five presidents in one week during the crisis of 2001. The route is mostly on bike paths . We will combine city and nature, in a circuit of approximately 12 km. other things to note: As Buenos Aires is on a plain, the difficulty level of the experience is easy and suitable for all ages. * solo travellers ( please ask first) In case of torrential rain we can reschedule the departure for another time or day to be agreed with guests. “Become an eyewitness to an obscure period of our history and have a unique experience with the dark side of Argentina” You will explore the following: Memorial plaques of the disappeared people. Incredible murals (paintings & graffiti) on the topic: The individuals, history, and struggles they represent. An ex-Clandestine Center, often called the Auschwitz of Argentina: We are not going inside the Ex-clandestine center. We are going to walk around the place where we can find incredible murals (paintings & graffiti) on the topic. The individuals, history, and struggles they represent. Actually, part of the Ex-clandestine center was dismantled before democracy returned and the areas of the cells were demolished, etc. and the most interesting things, for the most part, are easily seen from the outside. As I am a living history, I will tell you the interesting facts you need to know to understand the worst, most brutal, and most violent dictatorship in Argentinean history. I am willing to share with you what it was like to live through that dark period in our history. Also, you will hear recorded testimonies and examine unique documents. Jewels Off the Beaten Path

Discover the jewels of Buenos Aires outside of published guidebooks and traditional highlights that most tourists miss! In this distinctive walk, first, we will connect some unique spots that are not in the touristic circuit. Then, you will enjoy discovering the jewels of a neighborhood (not listed in guidebooks) that you would never have the opportunity to explore without knowing a local. This walk includes uncommonly visited city landmarks that deviate from your typical tourist locations. Because we enter some of the buildings that we visit, you will get an extra personal experience of each place that most large walking tours won’t be able to offer. We will visit Impressive buildings with a variety of architectural styles (including art nouveau and art deco); the second most-beautiful book shop in the world and a chorizo (sausage) style house (the house is closed on Tuesdays). We'll admire house facades and shops covered in “fileteado” artwork: a creative art, one-of-a-kind, full of vivid colored ornaments and symmetries. Also, expect to view creative street art and murals painted by local artists, a tango clothes and shoes store, etc. for a most memorable experience. Other things to note: Great for groups! Conoce Buenos Aires en bicicleta

Haremos un recorrido en bicicleta partiendo desde el vibrante barrio de Palermo de la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Desde allí pasaremos por algunos de los monumentos más icónicos de la ciudad y rincones que pocos turistas conocen. Finalmente arribaremos al punto de partida. En cada punto haremos una parada breve donde se brindará información sobre el área. El 60% del recorrido atraviesa frondosas áreas verdes de la ciudad y el 90% del recorrido se realiza a través de ciclovías seguras. La distancia total recorrida es de 14 km en un circuito amigable y fácil de pedalear. Haremos una parada especial, donde experimentarás el tradicional “mate”, además de probar el clásico alfajor argentino. En caso de lluvia, se reprograma la actividad para otro momento o se cancela y se procede a la devolución del dinero. Para garantizar una experiencia personalizada y cómoda, los paseos con niños menores de 12 años se realizan en la modalidad 'grupo privado'. Contamos con bicicletas y asientos para los más pequeños.
