On the edge of Bodmin Moor but just eight miles from the sea at Looe, Homestead offers excellent accommodation with en-suite plus family bathrooms in a beautiful barn conversion and is geared up to support your activity holiday in Cornwall.
Coronavirus: we ensure all key surfaces are disinfected between guest visits and any used crockery and cutlery is rewashed in the dishwasher, as well as making sure you have a good supply of clean towels, soap, tissues and disposable aprons and gloves.

Homestead is a recent barn conversion in a former farm yard, with a good mix of barn features, such as beams and wooden floors, and modern fittings, particularly in the bathrooms, en-suites and kitchen. Under floor heating and wood burning stoves ensure the house is always comfortable.
We will make up the beds and supply towels and basic toiletries for your stay.

In addition to the three bedrooms and two bathrooms, guests have a well-equipped modern kitchen, sitting room, dining area and access to the laundry. Also use of the gardens and BBQ area for outdoor eating. There are three parking spaces.

Homestead is in a former farm yard. We have four farm cats but we hope you will not see them - they do not live in the main part of the house. Our neighbours also have pets and there are sheep and cattle in the surrounding fields. We have three horses - the stables are in the upper yard about 100 metres from the house. The yard is on a slope and there are steps in the house - a staircase leading down to two of the bedrooms; and two steps (without a rail) between two of the reception rooms. Please note that during the first half of 2018 there will be some work on another house within the farmyard. We have tried to ensure that any building materials are kept out of sight at the back of that building with the aim of ensuring there is no disruption to your stay here. The work should be completed during the summer of 2018. Our 2018 prices have been set to take this into account so that your stay at Homestead remains good value.

Liskeard and its surrounding area is an ancient stannary town with much to explore in terms of mining and railway heritage. The proximity of Bodmin Moor means that Homestead is an ideal location for walking, trail running and riding holidays. We are also on the End to End route for cyclists and close to three great mountain biking facilities. Bodmin Moor offers great opportunities for landscape painting and bird watching. We also have a dark sky filled with stars on a clear night. We can give you details of our favourite cafes and pubs.

Geoff and I have lived in Liskeard for the last eight years. I grew up in the West Country but then lived in London for the next 40 years. I retired at the end of 2015 and, since we live in a very pretty barn conversion on the edge of Bodmin Moor, Geoff and I thought this was a great opportunity to try and be Airbnb hosts - and to help people enjoy their leisure breaks in Cornwall. We have three horses whom we compete regularly and also enjoy cycling and painting and are particularly geared up to support you if you are interested in an activity break in this lovely county. We are geared up to help with lifts to and from Liskeard Mainline Rail Station; to store bicycles; to accommodate up to three horses; and to support activities with maps and route information for walking; cycling; horse riding; trail running, etc. We will be pleased to light the wood burner for you too.
