Convenient location between Peak District and Manchester. Quiet detached house. Large ensuite ground floor room. Twin beds or superking size bed. Garden view. Tea/coffee facilities, mini fridge and microwave. Breakfast included. Ample off-road parking.
Our large guest room can be set up as a double room, with a superking-size (6') bed, or as a twin room, with two single (3') beds.
The room has a smart-TV, so in addition to the usual digital terrestrial channels you can also watch BBC, ITV and Channel 4 programmes via the online catch-up services. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the room, a microwave and mini fridge, and a hairdryer. We provide an information folder containing details of local pubs, restaurants and cafes and a wide selection of local sightseeing or walking ideas.
The room has an en-suite shower room with toilet, sink, large shower cubicle with electric shower, and a shaver point. We provide towels, soap and shampoo.
Ironing facilities are available on request. Guests can also have access to the washing machine and tumble drier at a small additional charge.
Breakfast is inclusive in the price and we offer a selection of: cereals, milk, yoghurt, toast, bagels, crumpets, butter, homemade jams, fresh fruit and juices. We can provide gluten and dairy free options.
Guests have access to the ensuite guest room and may use the dining room for breakfast (although breakfast can also be eaten in the guest room). Guests also have access to the garden. The rest of the house, including the kitchen, is private.
Dietary requirements: We can cater for gluten and dairy-free breakfasts, as Ingrid follows a g/d-free diet.
Local discounts: Our guests get discount offers at Cosy Cafe in Hollingworth and at The Bull's Head pub in Tintwistle (we provide vouchers and menus in our welcome pack).
Allergies: We don't have any pets living in the house, but we do own a horse.
Smoking: We don't allow smoking in the house. Simon smokes a pipe outside. Guests may smoke in the garden.
We try not to have lots of rules, but ask you to treat our family home with respect. Please do not smoke in the house. Please respect the private areas of the house and remember that we work from home during the day (even on weekends!). The dining room may be used for breakfast, but the kitchen is not available for use. Please ensure you observe the check-in and check-out times. When you go out, please close/lock the bathroom and bedroom windows and lock the front door of the house. If you have used the back door to the garden, please close/lock that door too.
We will be available for check-in and where possible for check-out, and to answer queries and have a chat whenever we can. We'll provide breakfast each morning. We're happy to help with ideas for places to visit and places to eat. We are both self-employed and work long hours, and we have a horse so we're often out of the house early in the morning and in the early evenings. Ingrid works from home.
My partner, Simon, and I are both self-employed. I'm an international education consultant and Simon runs a building maintenance company. Other than running our businesses, our lives revolve around Jack, our very large 3-year-old Clydesdale horse.
I've travelled extensively with my job around Africa and Asia and still make a few trips each year, but much prefer these days to be training Jack or gardening.
