Welcome to Portland! We've got it all--world-famous restaurants, food carts, doughnut makers, breweries, coffee roasters, and wineries all within reach. If you are itching to get out of the city, we are a hop skip and a jump from the Oregon coast, the Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah falls, Mt. Hood, and wine country. Our house is about a 15-20 minute drive to the airport, and 15 minute drive to downtown Portland.
Your Asian- themed room in our recently completed (December 2012!) 6 BR 3.5 BA Portland Foursquare home is in the finished basement. It has a very comfortable queen-sized pillowtop bed for your use. You will share a full bath with the other airbnb room downstairs (the yellow room)--the bathroom is located between the two. There is an additional powder room on the main floor for anyone to use.
The finished basement is about 1200 square feet, and has a large egress window, 9 foot ceilings, and private entrance from the side of the house, so you can come and go with privacy. The basement has a large open space with an HDTV hooked up to cable, a table and desk available for your use.
The kitchen is large and sunny, with stainless appliances, granite counters, large island with prep sink and bar stools for relaxed meals. It opens to the great room, with gas fireplace and large HDTV. Off the kitchen there is a formal dining room with box beam ceilings, a powder room, and small library. We have a large front porch, and covered back deck that overlooks the fenced-in backyard, perfect for relaxing or dining on warm days.
Our house is in the Woodstock neighborhood, about a block from Woodstock Boulevard, not far from Reed College, and within walking distance of many great bars, restaurants, a Safeway grocery store, and 3 parks. The closet bus stop is on 52nd and Woodstock, about 2 blocks away. There is ample (free) street parking.
Your hosts are a typical Portland couple--Brian is a Portland native, and works in the coffee industry, and will offer you your daily cup or three in a myriad of ways. Shannon is fluent in Danish and Chinese, and practices acupuncture and Chinese medicine at a busy clinic, little Kieran is 2, and likes to kick soccer balls, play with his train set, eat avocados and dance.
Our home is childproofed, and we have a spare pack and play and lots of books and toys to share with our youngest guests.
In addition to coffee and Chinese medicine we enjoy cooking, wine, craft beer, movies, indie music, sporting events, international travel, and always enjoy meeting new people.
Please let us know your expected arrival time, so we can figure out how to get keys to you-- our scheduled fluctuate a lot from day to day. Thanks! We look forward to meeting you!!
