A truely special and unique experience! Come stay in one of Australia's only Original Cira Gypsy Wagons. Originally built in Charters Towers in 1850. Still fully functional to be draw by horses! And enjoy access to our beautiful mudbrick home for bathroom/shower (we now have an outside loo for the Gypsy Wagon). Has heating! So very warm and cosy even in coldest winter weather! Only 5 minutes walk to Elphinstone pub.
Recently repainted beautifully by American artist Tess Sterns with Romani design. Small kitchen inside including bench top space, a little oven (its not connected to gas so use our kitchen if you would like to use an oven) kettle, tea, coffee and basic breakfast included in Wagon as well as a fridge and lots of cupboard space. Fold down table, seating along one side and comfortable double bed.
Via steps with hand rail.
Guests are welcomed to have a cuppa and chat in the house when they arrive and when ever they would like during their stay. You are also welcome to enjoy your private space and your very own lavender and rose garden with a lovely wooping willow in the centre. Please note the garden has only just been put in and isn't 'mature' and amazing yet!
Bathroom is located in the house- a 30 second walk from the wagon. Use of house/kitchen during your stay.
Enjoy a local pup meal at the end of our road at the Elphinstone Hotel; Very good value and a friendly local atmosphere. Also a lovely small Wine Bar is open on Friday and Sunday nights for wood fired pizza only two minutes drive from the house.
