Quiet & secluded on two acres at Colonial Pines Inn, 1/2 mile to Main St. Charming country french cabin decor with comfortable beds, quality linens, and spotlessly clean. 2BR, 1BA, efficiency kitchen, 500 sq ft plus deck. Great for a couple or small family. Pedestrian friendly neighborhood close to Gourmet Restaurants, Art Galleries, Theaters, Boutique Shopping, Hiking, Waterfalls, Nature Center. We have been Innkeepers since 1984 and are known for friendly service and attention to detail.
The Apartment is nestled among tall oaks, maples, and giant stands of rhododendron. Built over our garage (used only for storage), you go up a flight of stairs to a deck and then into a small sitting room with an efficiency kitchen. From there, two bedrooms and one bath open up directly off the sitting room. There are no hallways or extra spaces (other than the deck). The total size, not including the deck, is 500 square feet, so this is a small space with small rooms and a small bathroom and that is why we feel it is suitable for only three guests. If you have more than 3 guests, contact the owner at Colonial Pines Inn about renting a separate bedroom with king bed on the lower level or about Miss Rebecca's Cottage, a larger house with three bedrooms which can sleep up to six guests.
The Guest House shares a lush in-town hillside location with Colonial Pines Inn and has an upper level (The Apartment) and another room on the lower level (The Bargain Basement - not really a basement but one of the best deals in Highlands) which is rented separately for $105/night, not including breakfast. Breakfast at the Inn is included only with rooms in the main building, but you are welcome to come over, take a look at the Inn, and enjoy the breezy wrap-around porch.
We have been owner/innkeepers since 1984, and we live in the main building. We're always available for questions, information or any other help you might need. We employ a housekeeper who will provide room service, if you want it, for a small extra charge.
Sometimes, if the main building isn't full, you can buy breakfast at Colonial Pines Inn. This doesn't happen much on weekends or during certain super busy weeks, but it is a possibility. You are welcome to inquire about the menu, price, and availability. Otherwise, there are some great breakfast choices on Main Street such as Mountain Fresh Grocery & Cafe, Buck's Coffee Cafe, Bake My Day, The Sports Page, and Madison's. And remember that your little kitchen is well equipped for making light meals.
- An additional separate bedroom with king bed on the lower level may be rented if extra space is needed. Contact owner for pricing and availability.
- Quiet Time after 10pm
- The unit does not have A/C but does have lots of fans and open windows with cool mountain breezes
- Parking for one car adjacent to the apartment, more parking available on quiet street.
- Absolutely no smoking or pets.
