The old school house is a lovenly restored school house built in 1844 and retains some of the original features and charm with comfortable rooms and great food.We look foreword to welcoming you and helping you get the best from your time here on the wonderful Skellig coast.
There is lots to see and do here with blue flag beaches and mountain walks,we can arrange your trip to Skellig Michael,a must see if you are a star wars fan.

The Old School House B&B welcomes you to beautiful unspoiled Ballinskelligs on the wonderful Skellig coast. The house has 6 bedrooms and a large lounge suitable for relaxing by the open fire or sipping your coffee while we help you plan your day. There is a cosy conservatory for reading and relaxing and a secluded garden to enjoy on sunny days. There are many activities locally for you to enjoy, be it cliff walks along the Atlantic waves, kayaking, canoeing, or rock climbing, abseiling a round of golf, horse riding, bird watching or simply taking in the view over a cup of coffee in our local beach cafe . Start your day with our home cooked and totally fresh breakfast, made with our own free-range eggs and local Valencia milk you can choose from scrambled eggs with Irish bacon or fluffy pancakes with berries and cream,not forgetting the traditional Irish fried breakfast and our homemade brown bread and scones. We can arrange your boat trip to Skellig Michael (Weather Permitting) or help you plan your day with maps and directions there are many historic sites on the Skellig ring and the nearby world famous Ring of Kerry is pure eye candy.You will love our house if you are a teacher or have an interest in history as we have old school records some great stories to share ,you are guaranteed a genuine Irish welcome .

we are not near Dingle town .We prefer our guests to arrive before 9pm or please phone if delayed.
Please eat in our dining room not in the bedrooms.
Our house special is pancakes with berries and cream and along with cereal and juice is included in your room rate.If you would like an Irish fry there is a small extra charge.we do not allow dogs in bedrooms .

A perfect location for visiting the Skellig ring and ring of Kerry , or dark sky reserve.There is a chocolate factory where you can sample the many different flavours of truffles and bars of chocolate then add a cup of coffee and scone for an unforgettable experience.The local beach is walking distance from the house and just a short drive is our local pub and .,restaurant plus a beautiful sandy beach with lifeguard.A new loop walk has been added to tell the story of the Skellig monks.
