We advertise the listing as 'Entire home/apt' because our airbnb guests enjoy private living space, private facilities, their own entrance and a private outdoor area
Guests have exclusive use of this gorgeous semi-detached home
We live in the other side of the property (with separate entry and outdoor areas), but guests have complete privacy
Your space includes two bedrooms (one with a queen sized bed and the other a small bedroom with a double/single bunk combo), fully equipped kitchen and family bathroom plus private living/dining space, outdoor dining area and viewing balcony
Split system aircon and heating plus gas heating
la Porte Rouge has some disabled access. Feel free to ask about it
We provide a couple of staples to get you started (coffee - Nespresso machine, tea, sugar, milk) but as this is a self-catering property, you should bring everything else

Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main Rye centre but walking distance to town and the beach
Given the elevation of the home (which includes the beautiful treetop views - can't have a view without elevation), the 16 access stairs are very steep and unsuited to less physically able people
Parking is on the street, which is allowed by council in this area

IMPORTANT NOTICE: In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, in addition to our usual stringent cleaning measures (and of course personal precautions), we have committed to the new enhanced Airbnb cleaning and 'rest' protocols
The two bedrooms include: queen bed in one room; and a bunk with a double at the bottom and a single at the top in the other
This is not a large property, so not suitable for five adults. It is more suited to adult/children combination
If you do need a porta-cot, please let us know. We're happy to provide one at no charge if you bring your own bedding for the cot (all other bedding is included in your booking)
No smoking is allowed inside the property, but an ashtray is provided on the balcony for smoking outside - it is expected that if you do use it, you'll empty the ashtray before leaving
Please note that we don’t accept ‘schoolies’ bookings so please don’t ask
This is a self-catering property and while we provide some tea, coffee, sugar and milk to get you started, you should bring your own food and drinks etc
IMPORTANT NOTE: We have a two night minimum on long weekends and Easter, and a five night minimum over summer. Please don't ask for us to reduce these as our declining your request affects both our profiles. Thanks for understanding.
IMPORTANT: due to residential noise constraints, the split system heater/air conditioner cannot be operated between 11pm and 7am Monday to Friday and 11pm and 9am on weekends and public holidays. A gas space heater can be used in the evening if needed

la Porte Rouge is in a very quiet and leafy residential area of Rye. It's close to The Peninsula Pantry and an easy walk (20 mins) to the bay beach and central Rye
