You cannot stay more central. You can enjoy the view of the park and have a coffe in front of the dome in 1 minute. Consider a trip to Maastricht (1 hour by bus), Paris (2 hours by train) or to the north sea (2 hours by car). Düsseldorf and Cologne are not far aswell and Belgium is around the corner.
