Doublebed-room+private bathroom in a huge apartment, in a safe and quiet neighborhood, near Place Flagey area: the hidden jewel of Brussels vibrant local life outside the conventional tourists bubble. The apartment is shared with other 2 guests (and me). It's well connected to the city center (15-min. by bus/30-min. walking), the EU district and the University ULB/VUB. Private room including a comfortable double-bed, wardrobe, computer-desk and private bathroom next door. Washing-machine available. Shared fully-furnished kitchen with dining space. The bus stop to the city center and to the European district is just around the corner. Groceries, supermarkets, as well as cheap automatic bicycle rentals "Villo", are all around. At a 7-minutes distance, "Place Eugène Flagey" (Flagey Square) has all the cool stuff you need: bustling local touch, bars, restaurants, night life and beautiful lakes with green surroundings for your daily walks.

You can wash your clothes in the washing-machine, store and cook your own food in the kitchen, have your meals, share drinks or read my Brussels/Belgium travel guides in the kitchen shelves.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
You will share the apartment with me and other people (2 or 3 depending on reservations). Please be quite in the dining-room between 8 am and 11 pm since I or other people may sleep in the room behind. Also, from time to time I may feel the necessity to enter your private room, in case I need to take some of my personal stuff that is stored there. We will agree which is the best time for you to let me in.

THE GREAT "FLAGEY" DISTRICT
Place Eugène Flagey, usually shortened to Flagey by locals, is a square in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles, Belgium. It was named in honour of Eugène Flagey, mayor of Ixelles from 1935 to 1953. With ten streets converging at Flagey Square, it is one of the best connected crossroads in the city, directly adjacent to the neighboring Ixelles Lakes (or Ponds). Beginning in 2002 the square was extensively renovated. Place Flagey is famous for the art deco building occupying its entire southern side, the former Maison de la Radio, renamed to "Flagey" in 2002. It now hosts a cultural center. Its "Studio 4" is one of the concert halls with the best acoustics worldwide, home to the Brussels Philharmonic. It is also used as a recording studio; the award-winning soundtrack of movie The Artist was recorded here. The building on the opposite side of the square to "Flagey" houses the first supermarket ever opened in Belgium (on 18 December 1957), belonging to the brand "Delhaize". The Frit Flagey stand (fritkot), serving chips cooked the traditional Belgian way, is among the best in Brussels. "Belga" café is just the most famous of the dozens good-places-to go-out that are located at the four corners of the square. A 1 Km-long footpath along the lakes departs from the square, leading up to the impressive abbey complex "Abbaye de la Cambre", a truly way back to medieval atmosphere right in the middle of modern architecture.
