Located in the Western Mountains of Maine, between Sugarloaf and UMF.
You’ll love our Log Cabin in the Woods for it's quiet natural setting. We are close to Sugarloaf Mountain, lakes, rivers, hiking trails and on both snowmobiling & ATV trails.
The guest suite is on the 2nd floor separated from the main house by a mudroom. It has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath (with a 4 foot shower). One bedroom has a queen bed with a window seat. The other bedroom has two full beds, a TV and a smaller window seat!
The Guest Suite is for you and/or your group only. The space will never be booked for two separate groups.
Each room is appointed with crisp linens and lots of pillows! There are handmade afghan blankets to snuggle up with on the window seats with a cup of tea or your favorite book. Each room has a ceiling fan and the rooms are at the back of the house with views of the woods and in the winter the New Vineyard Mountain range. The walls are adorned with art from many local artists. The bathroom has plenty of towels and is equipped with a blow-dryer as well as a basket of toiletries for your needs.
There is an electric kettle and coffee maker in the bathroom along with assorted teas, coffee, sugar and non-dairy creamer. Tea cups & wine glasses are in the cabinet as well!
There is no kitchen. This is a two bedroom guest suite only. Please do not eat meals in the bedrooms, snacks are ok...meals are not.
During the winter, space will be available for your ski or snowshoe equipment. We have snowshoes here if you wish to walk out into the woods & trails from our home. We also have parking for a trailer (sled/ATV) and we are on the trails for both.
During the warm weather we have a lovely deck, covered front porch and a fire pit to relax after a busy day exploring the area. You are welcome to bring a cocktail, meal or snack on the deck or stone terrace to enjoy.
There is no kitchen access.
We welcome all questions about the area. If you ever need help or advise please do not hesitate to call (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or Ask in person.
If our door is open off the mudroom, please come in!
We do have pets. Talisker (Tali) is a very gentile black lab...she only barks at the first meeting, but soon treats you like family. Tali is a registered therapy dog who visits hospitals and nursing homes. We also have two cats, Doolin is very shy and you may never even see him. Mulligan is quite a character and you will most definitely see her sunning herself or trying to sneak upstairs for a visit...or as a cat would do ignore you!
Guests must be over the age of 21 and will be an occupant of the guest suite during the entire reserved period.
Please remove your shoes before climbing the stairs to your suite. Our driveway is gravel and small rocks can come in on your shoes!! We have a mudroom before the suite to collect most dirt! The floors are heated throughout and there is a tote bag of slippers if you wish! Thank you!
Please do not prepare or eat meals in your room(s). Snacks are fine.
60-ish, but young at heart, we have traveled to a number of locations and understand what it takes to be a satisfied guest. We have love for Ireland, London, Scotland, Japan, and of course the U.S.A. . We love the traditional music for all our travels and we typically stay at B&Bs. We also enjoy having house guest, and entertaining. We are from Boston, moved to Maine in 2000.
