I’m so sorry you were disappointed, but if you refer back to our description, we are completely upfront and transparent about all the issues you have raised. Perhaps you did not read it thoroughly. It says that it is a shared space and property with a private bedroom and bathroom. And all the amenities of the kitchenette are clearly listed. As far as privacy, we do our best to be unobtrusive and do not use the common area "lanai" while guests are staying. The only space shared is the entrance to the common area because that is also the entrance to our home. In our description we explain that we work from home, are up early, have chickens, a dog, and a school aged child. I’m sorry you found it chaotic. We try and be as honest and respectful as possible as we are a family opening our home and our lives to visitors to share the island and beach town we love.
We tried to give you as much privacy as possible, by only greeting you in passing and tried to be friendly with offering recommendations for the area upon request. We are sorry if this upset or interrupted your flow, but hope you enjoyed the sweet coffee shop, vegan restaurants, and special waterfall hike we shared. It’s hard to know how much each guest wants to interact and we do our best to be hospitable yet nonintrusive.
I’m not sure where you stayed during the rest of your time on Oahu, but Kailua is one of the more expensive destinations and our proximity to the beach should be taken into consideration. Aloha
