We are a small inn which has been family owned and run for over five decades now. What was once a classic 50's motor inn has been transformed into a lush, tropical paradise reminiscent of old Florida. For three generations, we have offered the same friendly and casual hospitality that the tropics is known for. Here you will find a charming and unique atmosphere and an authentic attitude toward service.

With rooms overlooking both our shady, verdant garden and our sunny poolside deck, you will truly get a taste of old Florida. Just steps from the beach, our small inn is a great place to enjoy a vacation by the ocean. We are located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, close to many scenic attractions such as Birch State Park and the Bonnet House, the shops and restaurants on Sunrise beach and Las Olas boulevard.
Each room comes equipped with a kitchenette or full kitchen with a refrigerator and cooking utensils. Most rooms are one-room studio apartments as snowbirds often stay for the entire winter.
This room comes with a queen size bed and a kitchenette with stovetop and minifridge..

We are located in a small residential area near a few other inns. Near each major intersection (A1A & Oakland Park Blvd. and A1A & Sunrise), there are a few shops, bars, and restaurants. Across the street is the beach perfect to cool off or enjoy the sun and surf.

We're Max and Jacquie, a couple in our 20s, born and raised in South Florida. We're now managing this property, the Green Island Inn, on the behalf of Max's dad. It's a small family owned motel which was built in the 1950s and has been in the family since sometime in the 1960's. Our interests are music and art, so we can tell you about different events, art walks, and activities in the area. Jacquie used to work as an art director at a gallery in Miami, so she has an insider's knowledge of the art scene in South Florida. Max worked for a local delivery company for a few years, so he knows almost every local restaurant inside and out, and he can provide recommendations. About the account: it's an older account which has been shared by multiple front desk people in the past, so the hosts have changed a couple of times, but have been the same core group of four or five people. Max has managed the property in the past, as has his sister, and their respective partners. Now we're in charge of the customer service experience again, and what we may lack in experience and professionalism, we more than make up for in genuine friendliness and enthusiasm. Since we're not big internet and phone users (the lifestyle here has a slower pace), it's sometimes easier to just find us around the property, since we live on site. Otherwise, we'll get back to you as soon as possible, but please be kind and patient. We're still amateurs, but we're doing our best.

We live on the grounds, and we are available to help make your stay more pleasant during normal working hours (9-5) and for any emergencies that occur after hours. The rooms are serviced Monday - Friday, but if you need fresh towels on the weekends, feel free to let us know.
