1. There was no rack to put soap & shampoo bottle when showering. (Your toiletries need to put at the floor when shower, very inconvenient) 2. Need a more better way to check in (please do apply smart lock at the mail box) 3. Please change the curtain from half-transparent to o…
We are giving this place an overall average rating mainly because of the tasteless and tactless way the host communicated with us after our check-out. This was our experience staying here: 1) the responsiveness of the host and co-host the instructions for check-in were clearly co…
Thanx Cheryl for the review. With regard to your dissatisfaction on the issue of blood staining the bedding set and pillow, this is also our very 1st experience and we too were surprised to see that we thought it was a criminal scene at the 1st glance before we got to know that it was from the nose bleeding. The amount of blood was copious and scattered everywhere on the bed and im truly sorry and i can feel the hassle that u have to go through dealing with the situation at that time. But on the other hand, i hope u understand that blood, unlike other types of stain, carries a totally different issues on hygiene and infection control. U have been suggesting me to clean with soda bicarbonate, but u need to understand that it may be practical to recycle the item within a loop of family, but not to other guests or other people. It is rather UNETHICAL for me to do that, that i have to throw away the affected items and material together with the pillow. I did not even allow the staff to touch but simply wrapped and discard it. If u noticed, in hospital setting, those related to blood are considered hazardous clinical waste and has to be grouped or discarded under different container from the usual trash. They have specific method to clean up and disinfect which we do not have. Before we called u up for compensation at depreciated value, we have already referred this case to a hosting committee for opinion. Here is the link : (Website hidden by Airbnb) I hope u did not mistaken us as making a false claim but that is what is understood worldwide pertaining to blood and blood products. Apart from the unfortunate event that has happened, Cheryl’s group is just fine. Im very sorry that their son was unwell during the 1 night stay, and according to them has caused nose bleeding on the bedding set as well as the pillow and comforter. There was stain of blood scattered everywhere on the bedding set especially the pillow. Having said that, blood is a sensitive issue and i could not compromise to reuse the items again for the next guest. It involves a lot of hygienic issue and i cannot guarantee that it can be safe to be used by other people. We are running a homestay to provide comfort and not a hospital setting that is properly trained to clean up blood and blood products. We negotiate with them for some compensation with depreciation value so that we can replace the sets as we are using branded materials meant for hotel accommodation but somehow they had refused to pay though we agreed to post to them the whole set of pillow and bedding. Finally we have to throw away the whole sets including the pillow. To Cheryl, incidents happened anywhere and no one wants to have such incident occurred. I have a family on my own and a father of 4 small kids and definitely know the hassles of dealing with kids. But when it happened we should take the responsibility and managed it properly. In Australia, even if u left the place with rubbish properly packed in a plastic but not throwing it away will be charged as penalty. The attitude of passing the burden to others is just not fair and is not an acceptable manner towards a civilized community.
