This well designed studio is located in one of the most sought after neighborhoods in San Diego - Mission Hills. Surrounded by canyons with private entry and quiet patio. Only a couple of blocks away from great dining, grocery stores and shopping.
This beautiful canyon studio apartment "the Roost" designed by an architect and interior designer offers a quiet peaceful setting, yet it is close to all San Diego's popular destinations, such as Balboa Park, Hillcrest, Little Italy, Downtown, Old Town, the beaches, the Zoo, Sea World and Coronado, all just a mere 10 minutes or less away. Relax on the patio with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and enjoy the birds and the zen setting. The kitchen is small, but well equipped to make simple meals. The kitchen has a small refrigerator/freezer, microwave, two single portable induction cooktops, hot water boiler, toaster and the choice of a French press, or a Nespresso machine for coffee lovers. We will try to leave you fresh eggs from our chickens, although in the fall and winter they do not lay many eggs. If you prefer to eat out, some of San Diego's popular restaurants such as Brooklyn Girl, the Red Door, the Patio, Farmers Bodega, Lefty's Pizza or Harley Grey's are just around the corner. Starbucks, Meshuggah Shack, Heartwork Coffee Bar, Kettle and Stone and other coffee places are just a couple of blocks away as well.
The main house is attached to the studio apartment, but they both do have their own private entries. The tenants of the main house will have access to the shared laundry room as well.
We look forward to welcome you and give you any information you may need.
One very friendly dog, Lula, and seven chickens also reside on the property. Crystal the grey cat from our neighbor seems to visit the studio quite often as well.
No smoking in the studio please!
No use of laundry room after 10:00 PM and before 7:00 AM
Ask about bringing pets before booking. We love children, but our space is small. Therefore bringing small children is not always possible. Please inquire before booking if you are traveling with infants or children.
Chuck, my husband, is a retired architect and my back ground is in interior design, photography and art. We are very adventurous, athletic and outdoorsy. We love to travel and have been to many places. I am from the Netherlands, so we travel back to Europe quite often. It is one of our favorite destinations. There are so many other places we want to see one day, especially South America and explore more of Mexico. We enjoy the Mexican people and their culture very much. We can't complain about the food either. We are not much into 5 star traveling, even though we have done it from time to time. We find that when you go off the beaten path and stay at different homes, B&B's or small non-chain hotels instead of big luxurious hotels, you meet the most interesting people and learn the most of one's culture.
Our moto in life: collect as many positive experiences and friends rather than personal possessions.
