IMPORTANT NOTE:
Pets are not allowed at Cactus Jack...not even outside (there are coyotes). IF YOU BRING PETS, there is ALWAYS evidence, no matter how much you think you've covered your tracks, and you will be charged a $100 extra for the deep cleaning that will be required. This does not cover any damage left by the pet(s), and any damages will be charged as well. If you require a service animal, you will need to check with me FIRST and provide proof that he/she is a service animal. Thank you for your cooperation...there are many people with allergies that visit, and, as always, my goal is to to provide the best experience possible for ALL of my guests.
Cactus Jack will accommodate a large party if most are NOT planning on sleeping inside the cabin. Inside the cabin, up to four people can sleep on two futons. There is also an outdoor shower with hot water.
Since this tiny cabin is OFF GRID, there are some things you will need to be aware of when using the utilities. Please charge your personal electronics during the day to avoid running the solar batteries too low. Avoid charging phones, computers, etc using the stored solar power at night when possible so that you have plenty left for lights, water, and tv at night. There is a stovetop percolator for coffee. Please, NO hair dryers, curling irons, or other high energy using appliances. Plug in coffee pots are NOT allowed to be used with the solar system either. There's something about heating coils or heating plates that drain the solar batteries almost immediately. If they are drained too much, they will not recharge, and it's a very expensive repair! If you really need to use any of these items, you can use them with the generator ONLY. I am working on upgrading the solar system, but it is somewhat limited now. If used as directed, though, you'll have plenty of solar power for your stay. However, if you choose to use the generator, you can use most appliances. On the wall in the kitchen there are two power strips clearly marked “Generator” and “Solar.” The water pump is run only by the solar, but should be fine to leave on the whole time you are checked in. All the overhead lights are solar but there is a lamp between the couches that is plugged into the generator. Feel free to move the lamp and use it with the solar if needed. The air conditioner should be run with the generator ONLY. The mini-fridge can be used with the solar, but of all the items safe for the solar, it does use the most energy, so you may find that it's a good idea to use the generator for the fridge when possible. There is a TV with antenna that gets basic channels like Fox, ABC, MY13, etc. There is also a Blu Ray/DVD player and a large assortment of DVDs as well as several Redbox locations in Twentynine Palms (no cable or internet...but you can probably use your cell phone's hotspot to connect the TV to Netflix, HULU, YouTube, etc.) There is a wall heater in the kitchen that is hooked up directly to the propane tank, the instructions are attached. The countertop burner is also propane. It may seem a little complicated, but everything is labeled clearly. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. I'm always available.
Outside, there is a fire pit with chairs and benches. Occasionally guests leave firewood behind, but this is not guaranteed. There are picnic tables, benches, and a charcoal grill available for you (bring your own charcoal). There is also a fire pit with a cooking grill attached if you feel like cooking that way. Cactus Jack is a work-in-progress, with plans for a gazebo, upgraded solar and other surprises. Bear in mind that with improvements come price increases, so you may want to book now.
Other things to note
Please note that fireworks, firearms, dirt bikes, and ATVs, etc. are NEVER allowed. THE PERSON BOOKING THE CABIN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGE CAUSED BY THEIR GUESTS. If you are unsure of something, like the generator, please contact me before putting oil or anything else into it. Others have caused serious damage mistakenly putting oil into the gas tank.
房客使用權限
You will have full access to everything on the property except the storage shed.
其他注意事項
Please note that pets, fireworks, firearms, and dirt bikes, ATVs, etc are not allowed.
