Cobblestone Rd on Ravine in Beaches
Cobblestone Rd on Ravine in Beaches

An elegant and sophisticated home built in 1917. It was remastered in 2011 (gutted to a brick shell) and is now intimate and unabashedly sensual.
It was featured in “Toronto Home” architectural magazine in the winter of 2013.

This is an unobtrusive space with a birds eye view of the surrounding ravine
The setting is on the only winding cobblestone road in our beloved Beach
The house offers 3400 square feet with light, balance, beauty and function. You can judge for yourself.

We have a custom designed and well stocked kitchen. If you’re a cook, you’ll appreciate the top- of- the -line Italian gas stove and marble counter workspace.

The house is flanked on each side with private bedrooms with baths
Absolutely every room looks out onto the ravine in the back and the winding cobblestone road at the front. The 3rd floor is the master suite Parisian style retreat. It feels like being in a tree house. It has its own ensuite bath, media entertainment and nature view galore.
The photographs speak for themselves
This home is truly a labour of love and is expressed in every last detail
If you can imagine a post-modern interpretation mixed with industrial cool, you’ll have an idea of what you’re in for. Don’t worry it’s still warm and comfortable.

We love our home and are prepared to share it with those seeking an exquisite escape and are also prepared to love and take good care during their stay.

Grand piano available, well stocked kitchen ie; dishes, pots and pans, utensils, herbs and spices. Bikes to ride and 1 car parking available on private drive as well as street parking.

No stay is complete without a scoop of the finest ice cream in North America (no kidding) Ed’s Real Scoop on Queen St at Beech Ave, conveniently across the road from Wicker Head’s VERY fine chocolatier.
The Fox Repertory Theatre is also a stroll from the house and a must visit. Features current and international films, the best $10 night out, no parking to pay as you can walk there, just add the popcorn.
Last but not least is the reason you are even on this page, our magnificent Lake Ontario, what can be said that you haven’t read in the guide books, it’s majestic.

This place is great. If you are not familiar with this part of Toronto you will be very pleasantly surprised. Located close to recreation on Lake Ontario and to restaurants and bars on Queen St this is a great place to stay while you are in Toronto. Public transit is within walking distance or you can take Uber to downtown for $20. The neighborhood is upscale and very quiet. Highly recommended!

Karyn was a fantastic host to communicate with and just a really. Ice person who was there to greet us and always at end of a message if we needed anything. The house is gorgeous and it's in a really nice neighbourhood. It's a steep walk up from the Main Street but we love walking so wasn't an issue. The house is as described and it's wonderful having all the basics to hand in terms of store cupboard items laundry detergent etc. Didn't have to think of anything! It was our first air bnb experience and we were a bit taken aback as so many personal items and clothes in cupboards under beds etc meant we didn't have a lot of space for our stuff but we quickly adapted. Apparently it was unseasonably cool in Toronto when we there but as there's only on ac unit on top floor we did find the house v warm. But that could just be a reflection of our Irish climate. Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely recommend. Karyn is absolutely lovely.
I am glad that it was a great stay, Nicola. I am sorry that you did not find enough room for your items. We leave what we think is a reasonable amount of space but as is typical of airb&b, we do live in our home most of the time. We find that the oak trees provide a lot of shade in the summer and we only use ac to supplement the cooling process. I am sorry that this did not work for you.

Elegant, capacious, inspiring. What a treat to stay in this beautiful house - a true work of art, and labour of love by Karyn, who was truly warm and open. We felt entirely comfortable and looked after, with a full fridge and food laid out upon arrival. So generous! The space itself was incomparable, with lots of magic pockets to disappear into, or lounge and play. We loved the veranda and that amazing view! From every window you see green, and yet you are so well connected to the bustling coffee bars and nearby restaurants of The Beaches - a real haven, with something for everyone. Lucky us!

Staying at Karyn’s house was a fantastic experience. Karyn gave us a very warm welcomed after a long-haul flight and even left delicious cookies and items in the fridge. Communication with Karyn was very easy and pleasant – she was always quick to reply whether before or during the stay. The house is very clean and beautiful, featuring many wonderful views of the surrounding ravine and trees. The location couldn't be better: quiet street and ravine in the backyard, within minutes to the beach and very close to the streetcars which take you downtown. Thank you! We would love to come back again.

Karyn's house was just as beautiful as the pictures show and was a lovely place to spend the week as a family. It was well equipped and we found we had everything we needed in terms of meal preparation. Although the house is in the city, the lot it sits on gives you the feeling of being out in the country. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and look out at all of the old trees in the backyard. Very convenient location whether you want to stay in the Beaches or venture further into the city. Karen was very quick at getting back to us whenever we sent her a message and was very welcoming. All in all we had a great stay and would return in a heartbeat.

Our family had the pleasure to experience the luxury of this incredible property located in a prestigious area of the Beaches neighborhood. Heartfelt thanks to Karyn for making her home welcome to us. Our kids (ages 6 and 10) enjoyed the Glen Steward Ravine Trail which sits just behind the property and the large trampoline in the backyard. A number of local restaurants and shops are conveniently located just a short walk away ... And yes, so is the beach! The home is immaculately decorated with beautiful art and lighting. We enjoyed sitting on the large backyard deck overlooking the ravine trail surrounded by incredibly mature trees. I highly recommend this property.

A big thank you to Karyn and Mike. The house was fantastic with great facilities, we all loved our stay there and didn't want to leave at the end of the week. The breakfast and extras made our first morning after a long trip from the UK, really relaxing. Great location with easy access to Toronto centre. We all fell in love with the beaches and felt like home for the week. Communication prior to our visit was helpful and informative. We would definitely love to visit again-family aged 20-50+.

We are a family of 4. I teach at the University of Toronto, my husband is an engineer, our children are 19 and 16. We enjoy every aspect of living in our Beach community. It very much feels like a village to us. We bike it, walk it every chance we get.
