Step into the beauty of Sophie's Choice Log Cabin...exactly what you deserve while on vacation! We want you to leave refreshed, renewed, and ready to return!
Our luxury log home, only 3 miles from downtown Bryson City, North Carolina features over 2800 square feet of spacious, warm & cozy living at an elevation of 2200 feet. The furnishings are upscale and the amenities are numerous. We have done our best to make this your home away from home.
Nestled in the privacy of 5.6 wooded acres, at the end of the road, on a quiet mountain ridge with beautiful, long range mountain views, Sophie’s Choice is naturally landscaped offering a nice secluded wooded feel with a groomed, flat side yard for playing or simply relaxing. Yard includes a fire pit and horseshoes. At night, sit outside and treat yourself to the sound of the crickets and the star-filled, open mountain sky! During the day, listen to the birds chirping! Leather furniture, hardwood floors, granite/travertine countertops, and full log wall interior are just some of the ways that we have brought the outdoors in to truly make this your dream mountain get-away.
The large great room welcomes you to relax on the leather sofa (with blankets for cuddling), 2 leather chairs, and large leather ottoman that face a gorgeous hand-crafted stone gas fireplace with flat screen Smart TV over head. This is where we set up a Christmas tree during the Polar Express & holiday season! This spacious living area has three sets of French doors that open onto the expansive deck where you’ll find Adirondack chairs and a hot tub for gathering, watching the beautiful sunrise, enjoying the mountain view, or stargazing in the evening. The deck also has a gas grill (with a hand built fabulous prep area & direct link to gas source) and wrought iron outdoor dining furniture to enjoy meals and great conversation.
The cabin's open and spacious living/dining area features a slate pool table for your entertainment and a dining table that seats 8 with additional bar counter seating for 2.
Your kitchen is appointed with granite countertops and all appliances including refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker (with reusable filter), coffee grinder, and toaster oven. We also provide you with all of the dishes, utensils, and pots & pans that you’ll need. You can cook away and still be a part of the action since the living space flows openly. A gas grill with utensils is also provided and a spacious mud/laundry room houses a full sized washer & dryer for your convenience.
The great room has high cathedral ceilings and a beautiful staircase that leads to the 2 bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs. The upstairs level has an open hallway that overlooks the great room. The two upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom that features a large old-world style vanity and beautifully tiled tub/shower combo.
To accommodate your sleeping needs, our 3 bedroom/2.5 bath log cabin has been designed to help you relax and get a restful night’s sleep in one of our comfortable pillow-top beds with high-end linens, pillows, and luxurious décor. Our goal is for you to slip into bed at night and wake up feeling rested from a wonderful nights sleep!
The large master suite is down a short hallway off of the great room. It has a king-size bed, huge walk-in closet, and private bath featuring a travertine double vanity, Jacuzzi tub, and a separate tiled shower. French doors open to the deck, only steps away from the hot tub. A small sitting area has been created with two stylish, comfortable reclining chairs, table, floor lamp, and a Smart TV entertainment center housing a DVD player.
Upstairs, bedroom 2 features wooden French doors opening to a spacious room with a beautifully ornate queen-size sleigh bed, matching nightstands, armoire, sitting chair & table, and walk-in closet. Bedroom 3 has been designed as another private bedroom or for all of the “extra sleepers”. It features two queen-size beds and a futon couch that can fold out for additional sleeping. Bedroom 3 has a large carpeted area for children to play and a Smart TV.
The town of Bryson City is just continuing to get more and more like a Hallmark movie! It's small town feel with quaint boutiques and restaurants surrounded by mountains & the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad makes you feel right at home with its Southern Charm. The spring & summer months bring festivals and numerous outdoor activities, the fall foliage is magnificent, and the winter brings us The Polar Express and snow skiing at Cataloochee Resort. Harrah's Casino is just 10 miles away which offers fabulous dining and entertainment opportunities. Hiking. Biking. Exploring. There is so much to do or it's just a perfect place to relax ~ our cabin and town do not disappoint. We live in the area so we don't stay in our cabin often but when we do it still takes our breath away!

Firewood can be requested ahead of time to be delivered ($5/bundle; minimum 3 bundles or $40 for 12 bundles).
