The property is ideally situated for local attractions such as The Isle of Skye, Plockton & Eilean Donan Castle all are within a ten minute drive from The Shieling. This property comprises a single storey wooden building & was designed & built by the current owners in 2006 as their family home. The property features an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with cathedral ceilings and is tastefully decorated. It is situated in its own grounds in a crofting community.

You will be provided with a hospitality tray in your room and will be served a substantial continental breakfast in the open plan dining room/kitchen/lounge.

Bedroom and showerroom. Breakfast will be served in the open plan kitchen dining area.
Guests will only have access to this at breakfast time as it is the family home.

We are able to accommodate an additional guest when there are parties of 3 travelling together. We have another single bedroom available at an additional charge, we only let this room when requested by guests who require a double and single room. The single room shares the en suite facilities attached to the double room, the en suite can be accessed from the hallway as well as from the double room so privacy is maintained for both rooms.
We also have a self catering cabin to rent on air bnb if you are interested check out BOTHAN BEAG. Newly built and very cosy, comfortable and stylish.

I moved to the Highlands approximately 13 yrs ago, i was born in Surrey but lived most of my life in Hampshire before relocating to Balmacara. My Partner Rena was born in this village but left when she was 19 yrs old, it was always her intention to return to her home village & local community. We are now beginning the process of becoming self sufficient in terms of generating an income from tourism and hope we can build up our reputation as excellent hosts.

Steve will be available to welcome you and to serve you breakfast in the morning. He will be happy to share his local knowledge of the area. Check in is between 4-6 pm and guests are asked to vacate their room by 10 am.
