Tor and Mad welcomes You to Svegarden, an old family farm beautifully located on a hill with views over forest lands and mountains in the horizon, lakes an river nearby. We have two big dubbelbed rooms in the yellow house built 1860. Guests share bathroom with shower, a spacy kitchen and sitting room with pool table. We, the hosts, live in a separate building We are slowly renovating and refurnishing, so there always some interesting project going on, often with some international volunteers as helpers. We have a shop for curiosity and antique items mirroring the past on the farm. The farming is planting, thinning and harvesting trees for timber, paper and biofuels/firewood but a also a mission to protect lands, swamp, creeks, gorges, shores, biotops etc with ecological values Fishing, hunting, picking mushrooms and berries are regulated seasonal activities. Roads and paths make it possible to enjoy the village and landscape by walking or (free) bicycling around. We can arrange outing to rustic cottage, taking a sauna, an an invigorating swim in the crystaline river and a BBQ At times - fish trout, grayling from land or from boat. We offer a friendly relaxing family place with close access to a healing nature. With half an hours drive, you have our provincial capital Östersund, a cosy town with a lot to offer.
