Basin View Retreat is situated in close proximity to the Cataract Gorge Reserve, with some amazing short walks and wildlife at your doorstep. The reserve features a spectacular outdoor art-deco pool, which is free and maintained for swimming during the warmer months of the year.
Wallabies and possums frequent the guesthouse garden and can be seen at night. Native birds including the Superb Fairy Wren and Scarlett Robin breed in our gardens. Peacocks visit the reserve which is next to our property. The guesthouse deck is private and captures the northern sun, prefect for a morning coffee or to enjoy the bushland views. The living space is sun-drenched and the polished concrete floors help keep the space cosy warm in winter and cool in summer.
The kitchen is modern and well stocked with Nespresso coffee machine (pods supplied), basic tea and coffee making facilities, rice cooker, microwave, and sandwich press. The bathroom includes a European laundry with washing machine, dryer, clothes drying rack, and an iron.
The spare bed is a pull-out double bed in the bedroom. There will not be much space left for luggage when this bed is out. It is a sofa-bed style foam mattress and is more suited to children and may not be comfortable for adults to sleep on. If you would like the extra bed made up it is $30 per night. Just add a third person to the booking to add this charge and send us a message with your bedding requirements.

The 55-inch smart TV has internet and Netflix access. Broadband WiFi is included. If technology is not your thing, then keep yourself entertained with our books about local attractions, card games, giant jenga, or chess.

You will have access to the property via a shared driveway. The driveway is steep but sealed. You can choose to park in one of the two parking spaces in the carport above the guesthouse, or you can drive down to the private parking area directly in front of the guesthouse deck. The guesthouse has a large bushland garden that is fenced and private.
Access will be via a keypad entry system. The code will be sent to you on the day of check-in. Official check-in time is 2pm but we can usually have the guesthouse ready earlier and will message you on the day if it is ready earlier.

Our dog lives in our fenced garden next door. He may bark on your arrival but is very friendly and cannot access the guesthouse garden.

We are in a quiet street with very little traffic. Our property is right next to a large bush reserve and native birds and small animals regularly visit. You need to careful driving in our street at night as wallabies and possums are often on the road. Our neighbourhood is very quiet in the evening.

I live and work in Launceston and enjoy spending time with my young family. I love the native bush land nearby and the bird life that comes to visit our garden.
住宿期間
We live onsite in a separate building (with private garden) and work at the local hospital. Two young children live onsite and some noise may be heard. We can be available if you need us, but will tend to stay out of your way. This property is not suitable for large groups or parties/events.
