Besides going to the beach, you can sample the famous Kona coffee at Sacred Grounds Coffee Farm just 14 miles up Hawaii Belt Road. A popular and adventurous day trip can take you down Hawaii Belt Road for 58 miles, around Mauna Loa, to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the town of Volcano. If you drive 27 miles in the other direction, you can spend a day shopping, dining, and exploring the oceanfront Ali'i Drive in Kona town.
