Ginger's Haven, Coasters Retreat is a light, airy, fifties nautical cottage on the forefront of Pittwater's magnificent waterways only an hour North from Sydney CBD.
Just steps away from the shoreline, La Haven cottage offers a northerly aspect, perfect for nature lovers, boating enthusiasts, artists, and those who appreciate the simple things in life.
Serene and private with just a few neighbouring houses, La Haven offers beaches, bush walks, abundant wildlife and unspoilt native bushland.

Property features
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Access to the property is by water. There is no car access to the property or to Coasters Retreat. If you do not have a boat, there is a ferry from Palm Beach Wharf (google Fantasea Palm Beach Ferry for timetable) and also a local water taxi service (call the number featured in our photos for any details and bookings.)
At the moment we can not offer a mooring. Moorings can be hired through local yacht clubs and must be organised by the guests themselves.
If coming by Ferry, catch the ferry to Bonnie Doon Wharf. Turn left and follow the bush track that runs along the shore line. The path is a bit rustic in places so please get in touch if you have any mobility concerns.
Oh and bring a head torch if arriving after sunset!
For many reasons the cottage is not suitable for small children, the main one being safety. As such we can only offer family bookings on request.
We offer the second dwelling/ bedroom on request. It has its own toilet and bathroom sink but all other facilities are shared. There is an additional fee and an additional cleaning fee for this second room.
Ginger's main dwelling, being a cosy one bedroom cottage, can sleep two people only. All requests for extra guests is subject to negotiation.
No pets.

. We have a queen bed in the main bedroom.
. The bedroom is provided with clean linen and towels.
• Fully equiped kitchen with Miele appliances and marble bench tops (The dishwasher is currently unavailable for use.)
• Timber floorboards
• Private rear courtyard
• Excellent direct access to the water & the national park
• Sought after lifestyle sanctuary to relax and rejuvenate
• Protected coastal inlet
• Accessible only by ferry, water taxi or private boat
• An hour north of Sydney city
With a track meandering along the water’s edge providing access and linking the two public wharves.
This exceptional environment offers endless possibilities - swimming, fishing, kayaking, boating, bush walking, Aboriginal rock carvings and historical sites, and the list goes on.
If rest and relaxation are more to your liking, simply take in the peace and serenity, indulge your creative passions, gaze at the sunsets, listen to the waves lapping at the shoreline and birdsong overhead, or enjoy the passing parade of wallabies and local wildlife, all within meters of your front door.
There is internet but it is slow due to the remote location. It is not an ideal location for internet related work.
There is a dishwasher but it is sadly broken and finding a repairperson to come to Coasters has proved near impossible. We thank guests for understanding this predicament. We thank you for hand washing dishes and putting them away ready for the next guests.

The main house and yard is all yours.
There is a separate dwelling also on the property that is vacant. We do not expect to have anyone else using that dwelling during your stay.

This alone makes La Haven a truely wonderful place to stay. Coasters is a pocket of nature away from the demands of modern life.
La Haven is also a home to wallabies, cockatoo, Kookaburras and a plethora of animals friends. As such pets are not permitted at La Haven.
Violation of this will incur a fine from National Parks.
Please do not feed the wildlife human food, it is not good for them.

Hello, my partner and I work in the entertainment industry and love our little cottage. We adore finding new ways to make Ginger's Haven a simple, wonderful place for couples and friends to escape to.

Imogen and Gerard are available by phone during your stay. We may not always be in a position to come to Coasters Retreat at the drop of a hat so we ask our guests to be as self sufficient as possible, as is the nature of Coasters Retreat itself.
