Located at just under 7200 feet on the slope to Mt Union in the historic Potato Patch mining district in Prescott, Arizona You'll reach us traveling 7.8 miles of paved and 3.3 miles on city and national forest maintained unpaved roads. Passenger car friendly but not speed friendly so kick back and enjoy the ride. Upon arriving you will be in the forest bordered by 11 acres of unimproved forest for our back yard and 3 acres for our front yard.
Perfect for family, sitting back and relaxing.

We are a mountain cabin at an elevation of 7200 feet. We rarely have had the need for air conditioning as our summer high temperatures range from 75-85 and our low temperatures are generally in the low to mid 50's.
As a result we do not provide air conditioning. All rooms have ceiling fans with multiple portable fans available if needed.

The Potato Patch mining area lies just south of Prescott. Founded near the source of Lynx Creek where gold was discovered in 1861. The discovery of Gold in Lynx Creek and surrounding streams were used to finance the American Civil War until a larger gold region was established in Virginia City, Nevada. You will find we are a community of cabins and hiking trails, our own private park, and fishing lakes as close as 5 miles. Explore the old Senators Highway which was the main highway to Phoenix when Prescott was our territorial capital.
You will be in the middle of the national forest surrounded by Ponderosa Pine, Spruce, Aspen and Oak trees. During the summer our temperatures are usually about 30 degrees cooler than Metropolitan Phoenix.

I'll soon be a retired banker. Having worked 45 years in the industry. My wife and I have three daughters and seven grandchildren. My wife and I purchased our cabin close to twenty years ago and regularly visit. We have become active trail riders leaving our ATV's there so we can use them whenever we are there. We hope you bring your ATV's and Side by Sides with you so you can also enjoy the many trails and historical areas within the Potato Patch district.
