Camp in style with Hayley, our cozy 1955 Comet Vintage Camper at the edge of a pond abundant in wildlife. Our 32-acre farm is located along the Pecos River, a pleasant 20 min walk through our property, and surrounded by thousands of acres of traditional irrigated pastures.
Fast fiber optic wifi available at farm building. Outdoor cold shower, utility sink, potable water and composting toilet on site, along with a new kitchen (bring your own campstove) with table and chairs and lounge.

房源空間
Our cozy 1955 Comet vintage camper sleeps 3 and comes with a full size memory foam bed and twin bed, and original cooler box.

You can drive up/park next to the camper.
A communal fire pit is at the campground and we provide firewood. Just bring the marshmallows. We have a pack of four loving dogs that enjoy visitors.

This is un-groomed traditional New Mexico. As rural and agricultural as it gets. A place we have fallen in love with and enjoy sharing with many visitors.

WIND! The New Mexico desert has strong winds at times, as we sit in a large watershed.

RAIN! When they come (June-Sept), the rains (monsoons) can be intense.

SNAKES! This is rattlesnake country. We respect their role in the ecosystem and do not harm them. Please be aware that an encounter with one of these mighty beings could occur during your visit. We have seen four so far this season and four last year.

We are a Community Land Trust in the very early phase of development. Our mission is to return farmland to the commons and create an attractive model of live-in work environment that can inspire the re-population of farmland, providing affordable home ownership, using regenerative practices for food production and wildlife habitat restoration, and relying on a variety of cottage industries to comfortably sustain a multi-generational community.

Our guests have enriched our lives and we are delighted to host people in search of unusual camping experiences. If you appreciate quietness, big skies, starry nights, bird watching, cattle, coyote, lush grasses, horses, dogs and the raw element of the desert, this may be a good place for you.

For more information about our nonprofit, please google Mil Abrazos Community Land Trust.

Wifi is available a short walk to the farm building, where cell reception is also better.

The camper is not heated but has some cozy down comforters to keep you warm.

NOTE: in order to ensure our guests peace and quiet, please arrive before 7:00pm.

Also, check out our other listings and our Belle Matrix family size 13' canvas tent, available from March to mid Nov.

其他注意事項
DIRECTIONS TO THE RIVER:

To get to the river, follow the fence line and go straight. It is a good 20 min walk. You will come to a cattle gate. Go through the gate and keep going straight until you come to a barbed wire fence at the end. Go through that gate towards the river and you will see a sign that points to a path to the right saying beach. Please close any gates behind you as you go.

Follow the path until you see another sign that says Beach and you will see two chairs and a small sandy beach area on the left.

For your return our property entrance is the post with two pink ties on it and has a sign that says "camp".

We have walkie talkies in the farmhouse building. Please ask us if you would like to use one in case of emergencies.

Note: The river can be high or low depending on the time of year. We advise not swimming when it is high as there are many rocks and boulders sticking up and the water can be moving fast, which makes it dangerous. Consider dunking instead. Also, to be culturally sensitive to our neighbors we ask that you do not go naked when at the river or use any drugs or alcohol. Thanks.

Located 28 miles from Interstate 25 and 16 miles from Interstate 40, with paved road to our property gate, our 32 acre farmland property sits in the middle of an ancient bread basket irrigated by a 12 mile-long ditch dug by hand and horse plow in the 1820’s.
The area is sparsely populated, mostly by small subsistence cattle ranchers, descendants of the original land grant Spanish settlers. Very quiet, and home to many resident and migratory birds and large deciduous trees fed by the irrigation ditches. We are part of a rich oasis ecosystem in the middle of the desert, fed by the beautiful Pecos River.
