Lovely quiet little house on slopes of Arthur's Seat. Pretty garden. Free street parking. Bedroom has twin single beds, breakfast included. Good bus to town, and help and information about getting around from host. Almost in Duddingston Village.

I love living here and hope you will enjoy it too. It really is remarkable to be in a house where you can see no other house from the front, and distant hills from the back and yet it is really near the middle of Edinburgh. The bedroom is a good size and very sunny, with very comfortable twin beds which can convert to an equally comfy superking double (only if you are staying for more than two nights, and you have to let me know if you want this, otherwise the default is a twin). There is tea and coffee making, and a snugly robe so that you can decently nip across the landing to the bathroom! Breakfast is in my living room with tea or coffee, muesli, home made yoghurt, bread and jam. The table overlooks the garden and the sun shines in on your breakfast table (ok, it is Scotland, I can't guarantee the sun!) Small children are most welcome, but I don't have a cot, as most people seem to have a travel cot. One older child or another adult can go in another room, only let as rooms together because of bathroom space. You have to pay for this room when you get here as I can't find a way to let it only as one booking on airbnb, so message me about it. It is £10 less that the main room. I share my house with two friendly dogs, Bramble who welcomes guests with a ball or toy and a lick! We have been joined by Teasel, who is very small and young, but also extremely friendly.

The bathroom (shower not bath) is shared with me, I shower early in the morning and don’t usually get in your way! I am happy for you to join me in the living room, but I like to keep the kitchen mine (which means that guests can’t use it for cooking or anything else). You are most welcome to use the garden. Breakfast is served in my living room overlooking the garden.
其他注意事項
The house is a little off the road, so you have to walk up a short path or up some steps to find it. Also if you want to walk up on Arthur's Seat it might be a good idea to bring suitable footwear, grass can be very wet and slippery, and sometimes muddy.

The house is on the edge of Duddingston Village which is an old area of Edinburgh on the slopes of Arthur's Seat. It has an 12th Century church, a lovely garden and Duddingston Loch, which is a nature reserve. The Sheep Heid, the oldest pub in Scotland has a skittles alley, and good food, is 5 minutes walk away, but you need to book if you are going there in the busy summer months. There are many places to eat in Portobello, Edinburgh's beach, which is about 20 mins walk, or a short drive away. It is about 35/45 mins very pleasant walk to Holyrood Palace and the new Scottish Parliament building, or you can walk up to the top of Arthur's Seat (which you can see from the house) in less than an hour. From there you get a great view of the town, the sea and the surrounding countryside.

I grew up in Edinburgh, but moved away to London and then Wales, where I ran a popular B&B for twenty eight years. I enjoy visitors and found that I missed them, so I am starting again! My dog Bramble was brought up in a B&B, so loves greeting guests. I love being in a city again, and sing in a fantastic community choir, enjoy going to the cinema, theatre, eating out and exploring the countryside. It is amazing having Arthur's Seat outside my door, and I go out early every morning and love the views of the Pentland Hills and the sea.

I ran a B&B elsewhere for 29 years, so I am well used to guests! I have books and maps of Edinburgh, and can help you find your way around. If you need me or want a chat I am around and would enjoy your company; but I am also aware that you may just want to be in your room and ignore me, and thats fine too. During the festival I try and keep up to date with what is on in the fringe, although as there are over 3000 shows I can't do more than scrape the surface.
