Totally unique and cozy living space with incredible views! A funky, warm and thoughtfully designed home built around a reclaimed two story water tank. Overflowing with mountain views up and down the roaring fork valley, on 3 acres 12 minutes from Aspen. A king bed in the master loft and a queen bed guest room, with 1.5 baths. Come be charmed!
Living here, you feel tremendously connected to nature, and a little in awe of the vast skies and majestic mountains, the dramatic storms that roll through and leave rainbows. You feel held and protected by the house that my grandfather built. He had a unique, rogue style of building that combined whimsy and earthiness, inspiration and rustic humanity. This is one of the last remaining bits of the original Aspen magic, and its coyote charm.
The Master Bedroom has a king-size bed and is on the loft level of the main round room, with a balcony open to and overlooking the living room/office below. There are floor to ceiling windows in the main room framing a wood stove. From all over the house you can see the valley- Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass ski areas, from the garden patio you can see Aspen.
The Second Bedroom has a queen bed in a cozy, petite room (8 x11). The main bathroom has a huge tub and deluxe shower. There is also a teeny half-bath is off the kitchen.
It's amazing how much love can fit in 1100 sq ft.
48" inch Flat Screen TV with Roku 3 and basic cable.
Wood-burning stove- we supply you with wood and fire sticks to warm up chilly nights.
Washer/Dryer downstairs in unfinished basement
Reverse Osmosis water filter
Well appointed kitchen with ceramic non-stick pan, coffee maker, blender, toasters. Electric element stove and oven.
Parking for two cars in driveway, or more with a little shuffling.
Depending on your timing in the spring and summer you will find lilac, peonies, daisies.
Wireless Sonos sound system in Living Room/Master and Kitchen
Everywhere but a locked closet in the basement and one you pass entering the house. The house is one of two on 3 acres. You will have loads of space and lawn around you- an ancient oak to climb if you wish.
I am available via phone and text for any questions or issues. Someone will come in person if you need something done.
Stove and Oven are electric, glass-top range.
There is no microwave.
There is no garbage disposal in the sink. Just mesh strainers.
Someone comes to mow the lawn once a week, usually on Weds.
The big trash and recycling containers are little walk away, about 200 feet.
When it gets cold the mice will be looking for warm shelter. You may see one. We have traps in the basement and can put some in the house if need be. I have actually not seen a mouse in the house yet, nor any poop, and I'd like to keep it that way, so we ask that guests keep vulnerable dry goods in the plastic storage containers in the pantry.
There is no fan in the main bathroom- just the half bath. In general, there are rustic elements. Still it is eminently comfortable and even more lovable!
In the winter, we recommend that you have 4-wheel drive car with studded tires.
Items left behind can be mailed back for $25 fee plus cost of shipping.
Please do not flush anything but human waste and modest amounts of toilet paper. Our septic system is very sensitive.
Please treat the house with respect and care, and leave it much as you found it.
I am a yoga and meditation teacher, massage therapist and health coach. I grew up in Aspen and now my partner, David, and I get to go back and forth between my home town and Santa Barbara. It's great to have guests enjoy our space while we're away. We love to hike and ski, dance and surf.
