The settings of Jonathan's place are amazing, quite isolated but beautiful, right up in the hills. The accommodation is very clean and presentable and the two dogs that greet you are great characters. We didn't meet Jonathan but we did meet his Dad who made us very welcome.
We were a little cold at night so could have done with having instructions about how to heat the place as it was late September.
I was concerned however with the conditions of some of the animals that are kept here, and have written a lengthy message to Jonathan about this.
I think Agriturismo is a great idea and has value as a tourism offer, but I don't think animals should be kept in poor conditions just to tick the boxes of it looking like a farm. If I were in the UK I would have reported this place to the RSPCA. I am hoping that Jonathan acts on what I have written to him and takes steps to improve the living conditions of these animals. It doesn't make the experience of staying here a richer one, rather an upsetting one.
Some of the animals were free to roam and clearly had a great life, but some were kept in dirty pens and were not well looked-after and this is my concern.
