Braunton is Devon's surf central. The bustling village has all the usual amenities (including lots of surf shops) plus great places to eat out. The British Surf Museum is in the centre and worth a visit. The beautiful Tarka Cycle Trail is also close.

I'm originally from Cornwall but have have lived in Devon for the last 30 years so I might almost be considered a local! (I still put the jam on first however!) My husband Jonathan moved to Devon from Hampshire 10 years ago and hasn’t looked back, we both love the laid back North Devon vibe. I have been lucky enough to have always lived near the ocean and am never happier than when I'm on it or beside it. I’m a mum and step mum to 6 children so life is super busy. I also have of a surf jewellery business and a holiday cottage to run so I don't get too much time to pursue hobbies but I’m usually making, digging or painting something! Yoga keeps me grounded and art, books, nature and travel feed my soul (dark chocolate also helps!) Our favourite holiday destination would be Italy but as a complete family we are all happiest when up a mountain somewhere skiing or snowboarding. Happy children, happy parents!
