My family spent two heavenly weeks at the Alessandra's home and it truly is a little piece of heaven. The villa comfortably sleep the six of us in our party, not that we spent much time inside the villa. The external elements of the villa are what elevates this place. Set up in the Sabina hills, with a gentle breeze and breathtaking views, the villa has many places to sit, eat, drink and relax, that you quickly slip into a slower pace of life. Not to mention the immense pool that we all loved. We all spent a considerable amount of time in and around the pool and it is immaculate and quite possibly the best pool I have come across when renting a villa. The deep end is very deep, so much so that you need to equalise your ear in order to sit on the bottom! The shallow end, the water is warm and was a very welcome retreat from the beautiful sunshine. The pool was cleaned daily before we woke and was all very welcoming. The property and grounds are maintained daily. The lovely staff are very discrete and go largely unnoticed apart from the lovely fresh vegetables brought to us daily. The tomatoes in particular were a big hit with the children. Within the grounds are peacocks, goats, horses, chickens, the children loved exploring and making friends with the animals. The medieval town of Poggio Mirteto is down the bottom of the hill we all found the people very welcoming (not too many tourists visit this part of Italy yet), it has every available shop/restaurant you could wish for. In addition an excellent train service runs every half an hour from the town and this enables you to have access to Rome within 40 mins. For a family of six, the cost of the train to Rome was 40 EUR, including the metro and the car park at the station is free! We had three separate days in Rome, each time using the train and we would all whole heartedly recommend this method of transport for accessing Rome. The villa and the location really are breathtaking. If you want to relax with your family in a quiet unspoilt area, with access to Rome, then this is the place for you. It is a little slice of heaven. Thank you.
Me and my two traveling partners had a loverly stay in Poggio Mirtetto. The village was everything you would expekt and the apartment is absolutely loverly. Melody was away but her boyfriend Fredrico and his mother Corinne greeted us and made us feel very welcome. They gave us wonderful tips on what to see in the town and the advise to take a car ride through the mountains to the town Rieti. A advise I gladly will pass along to everyone that plans to visit Poggio Mirtretto and its surroundings. The description and the pictures of the apartment is accurate and I give my best recommendation to anyone that plans a quiet vacation but with the possibility to take a day trip to Rome or any of the other nearby sites.
Sally was a wonderful host and the bedroom was exactly what we needed! We have been travelling for months and have stayed at a lot of airbnbs, this one was the best so far! The bed was super comfortable, the whole flat beautifully decorated with furniture from all over the world and everything was lovely and clean. Breakfast was delicious, we were served fresh orange juice, mueslis, toast, coffee, tea, etc... and Sally even drew us a super helpful map when our GPS led us astray and gave us tips and tricks for parking in Rome! Absolutely recommend!
