The tramway takes you all the way through town, eg to the main shopping streets around Place Masséna or to the colorful Libération market. Soon, it will be joined by a second tramway at the Port end of our street that will take us to the airport in less than 30MIN.

Several other cultural institutions in the same building including the great public library. Other must-see museums are of course the Musées Matisse and Chagal, which are both around 30MIN away on foot.

Sightseeing
A wonderful peace of nature on the edge of the old town with the most gorgeous views over Nice, the Promenade des Anglais, the Port, etc., particularly at sunset. Well worth the climb up through parkland complete with a waterfall that can be spotted from the streets and the beach below.

Another, even better lookout in walking distance from the house - this time with views over Nice on one side and over Villefranche, Beaulieu, Cap Ferat and the Mediteranean on the other. A noon cannon is still fired every day from this old fort! Said to have been requested in the 19th century by a British colonel whose wife was always late for lunch, it reminds us of the long history of Nice and the Riviera as a tourist destination. The surrounding parkland is great for running, playing boules, etc. or just getting away from the city. It is possible to walk to the center of picturesque Villefranche in 45MIN, longer if one takes the spectacular Chemin du Littoral along the coast.
