Huge, sandy, clean beach with lifeguards and excellent surfing and bodyboarding. Our all-time favourite, since it's so close to Chynance. There is a little car park with café for snacks and a warm up after a dip in the sea. Bring your wetsuit or hire one on site during the season. Board hire at the same place.

If you are into geology this is the place for you. The rock formations in the cliffs are extraordinary and tell the tale of massive forces folding rock into fantastic shapes. Take a sketch book and a camera. The road in and out is pretty steep. Park on the road.

Spectacular beach accessed via a rocky scramble. At low tide the beach extends almost a mile , however as the tide pushes in this all but disappears leaving just the rocks at the base of the cliffs. If you do visit the beach make sure you check the tides before going for a walk - each year a number of people need rescuing after becoming cut off by the tide. Parking available up the valley. There is a beach shop and snack shop open in the season, and the Port William pub is up the cliff. This is an excellent place to start a short and relatively easy stretch of the South West Coast Path - start here and walk to Tintagel to enjoy fantastic views. Get someone to pick you up at the other end!

Crowdy is a peaceful spot which is popular with birdwatchers and dog walkers. Flat grassy walks around the water are easy going. There is a small car park next to the dam. Opposite the entrance to Crowdy reservoir, Davidstow to Roughtor road, situated in a field adjacent to this single carriagway are three or could be seen as a triple barrow. Neolithic period to the Late Bronze Age, with most examples belonging to the period 2400-1500 BC. They were constructed as earthen or rubble mounds, sometimes ditched, which covered single or multiple burials.

Rough Tor is approximately one mile northwest of Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point, on Bodmin Moor. Its summit is 1313 ft (400m) above mean sea level, making it the second highest point in Cornwall. Both hills are in the civil parish of St Breward and near the town of Camelford. The De Lank River rises nearby and flows between the two hills. There are actually three tors at the site: Showery Tor, Little Rough Tor, and Rough Tor. Crowdy Reservoir is not far away from the hill. Hikes to the summit and to neighbouring Brown Willy are popular, though the walk may be a bit strenuous - take boots and good coats, the weather is changeable on the moor.

Tregardock Beach does not feel like it is located on one of the most popular stretches of coast in Cornwall. Situated about halfway between Tintagel and Port Isaac Tregardock is often empty. The reason is it is quite difficult to get to; located at the end of a long footpath there is a bit of a climb down the rocks onto the beach making it inaccessible to many. Parking is fairly restricted to, with no car park ans only space for around 10 or so cars. The beach itself is non existent at high tide but as the tide drops away it reveals a fine stretch of sand with a near shore littered with rocks. What starts off as a series of small coves becomes one long sandy stretch at low tide.

The best way to avoid a parking nightmare in Padstow is to park in Rock and take the Water Taxi across the Camel estuary! Just go down to the beach and you'll find it. It runs quite late into the evening during the season too. Fabulous views of Padstow and Rock Beach from the ferry are a free bonus.
