Parks & Nature

A beautiful garden for relaxation, a jog or to climb to the top of the Tour de Magne for a fantastic view.
This is a magnificent garden, which was part of the original Nîmes, as it houses natural springs. Now, it is a lovely spot for a stroll or a jog and if you continue to climb up the hill, you will find the Tour de Magne which was part of the ancient city walls and defence, and now gives a fantastic view of the city and its surrounds.

Getting Around

We often come to Nîmes from Paris by train and then rent a car from Hertz. There is an agency just behind the Nîmes train station. If you rent for 3 days, the price is often quite attractive. Otherwise, Nîmes is very well-serviced by the train and bus network. In summer, the train from Nimes to le Grau du roi (the closest beach) is 1€ and takes 50 mins. Trains run to Avignon, Arles, Montpellier, even Spain on a regular basis. The bus station behind the train station is where you can find a bus for Pont du Gard or Uzès. Relatively cheap and easy to navigate with the timetables available.
