Its aim is to rehabilitate offenders through training and giving a career, and what's more the food is fine-dining at a decent price. All the leather upholstery and boardroom tables are made by prisoners at HMP Frankland and poetry is from former Clink trainees.
The Clink Restaurant is consistently in the top 10 restaurants in Cardiff on TripAdvisor - well worth a visit if you can get a table booked.

Churchill WayA gorgeous bar and restaurant made in a former Chapel hence it's name. Great place to stop if you're going for dinner whilst in Cardiff. Easiest to get an Uber to here, so you can enjoy one of their delicious cocktails without worrying about driving back.
I've recently added this pub on the recommendation of a guest, who has had great value meals he was raving about! It's a local-style pub and is good for a nice meal and a pint at a very low cost. Apparently they also do a great Sunday roast.

Taste the history of Cardiff Bay at the Exchange Hotel's restaurant, Culleys. Located inside the former Coal Exchange building which was once the hub of the global coal trade. Cardiff was once the largest exporter of coal in the world, and Cardiff Bay was the busiest port in Europe.

Local Walks
The Vale of Glamorgan has so many lovely places if you fancy a walk. As a Coastal area we're never too far from a beach. Our local beach would be Penarth Seafront, a Victorian Promenade with a Pier, some lovely places for a coffee and to eat.
If you walk from Penlan Road, you will be out for hours and hours. But there are buses that go from outside the house. Worth a look if it is a nice day.

Eastern PromenadeThis place is an old fashioned, typical seaside resort that is a half an hour drive away from the house.
On a good weather day, it will be buzzing there. You'll be surrounded by fairground rides, ice creams and donuts and 2 of the best fish and chip shops in the Vale of Glamorgan!
Roath park has a boating lake and is a great place for a lovely walk. A few coffee shops here, plus on nearby Wellfield Road. Worth a visit on a fine day.

You can walk here from the house in around 20 minutes. Our town centre is full of small Independent shops and is good if you want a few gifts to take home. There are 3 small supermarkets here: (Tesco, Sainsbury and Co-Op) if you run out of something late at night, although the larger superstores are actually closer to the house.
Penarth Town Centre is a nice visit and you can get a coffee in one of the many cafes.
You will find gift shops, lots of charity shops, a Boots (pharmacy and toiletries) and lots more. Its not really the place for clothes shopping, choose St Davids instead but if you love Independent shops and small towns, go and check this place out.

If you fancy a quiet hour there are plenty of coffee shops nearby. You can walk to most of them right from the house, or get a super cheap Uber ride.
This would be 15-20 minutes walk from the house, right on Penarth Marina. Its a downhill walk there, but warning! An uphill walk back! It's actually a lovely walk and the Galley is situated towards the barrage.
