Point Loma (name used to refer to a peninsula and neighborhood) is host to a neighborhood called "Sunset Cliffs" and is appropriately named; we find it the most beautiful sunset of San Diego.
Ocean Beach is a small neighborhood on the way to Sunset Cliffs and is known for its very hippy vibe.
Also on Point Loma, at its southernmost tip, is the Cabrillo National Monument; beautiful views, walking trails, and meaningful history. Be sure to check its seasonal hours, especially for closing times.
