You are visiting the ancestral home of Dena'ina (The People) an Alaska Native indigenous peoples who called this great land home thousands of years before Russian fur traders and the gold rush. The Alaska Railroad began construction in 1915 at Ship Creek. Throughout the area you can find history, culture, trails, and other great things to enjoy! These are some of the best!
