Kata is very family-oriented and more quite than Patong. Kata main road runs from Kata center to Karon beach, and Kata center to Kata Noi beach. At Kata centre, you can find many shops, bars, restaurants, massage, hotels and guesthouses.

This is a great place for enrolling on the holiday detox programs. They offers detox, spa, yoga, fitness, vegan food and healthy drink.
Santosa detox and wellness center is within the neighborhood of our apartment. Guest of ‘ The retreat : 2 bedroom Ocean View suite’ has free access to sauna, ice bath and fitness at the Santosa Detox and Wellness Center.

Nice atmosphere for a relaxing afternoon in front of Kata beach for food, and drink. The pick-up or drop off of your shuttle bus is usually opposite of the Surf house. However, always check with the driver.

Phi Phi Island ( Koh Phi Phi in Thai ) is one of the most visited islands in the Andaman sea. It is known for the world-famous Maya Bay, which was the set where The Beach (with Leonardo Di Caprio) was filmed. With turquoise water, tropical beach, marine life, the jungle, is a perfect place for a getaway.
It can be very crowded during the high season due to its main tourist attraction. There are many hotels, bungalow, restaurants, cafe, minimart, ATM etc. You can do all the island activities and visit the nearby beaches and islands. There are serious diving schools, while the island is also a transit place to board a boat to Lanta, Krabi and other islands.
The most convenient way to go to the island is to book a van and a boat at the tour agency down at Kata or Karon shopping street. The van can pick you up and drop you off directly at the apartment. If you are driving, you can also park the car at the peire.
Shared ferry ( 2 hrs ride ): Depart from Rassada Pier, located in Phuket town approximately 20 km from the apartment.
Private speed boat: You can find speed boat that departs from Chalong Pier near Kata. However, recommend avoiding speedboat from ( Sep-Nov ) since it can get a little bumpy.

Phi phi island
Phi Phi Island ( Koh Phi Phi in Thai ) is one of the most visited islands in the Andaman sea. It is known for the world-famous Maya Bay, which was the set where The Beach (with Leonardo Di Caprio) was filmed. With turquoise water, tropical beach, marine life, the jungle, is a perfect place for a getaway.

The Big Buddha statue situates in the temple on top of the Narkkerd mountain. The temple is great place to visit and recommended . There are also many beautiful view points, small restaurants and elephants trekking place along the way to the top.

This supermarket is 10-15 minutes drive from the apartment. You can find all the essentials and groceries. Tesco Lotus Chalong opens everydays from 8 am - 10 pm. There is also an online delivery option from Tesco Lotus. You can download the apps or go to their website. You will need to book the delivery time and 60 Baht delivery fee applied.

It is a shopping complex that has small supermarket which I usually buy my baguette. It also has pharmacy, book store, clothes shop, Starbucks and the Home Pro furniture and electronic.
This is the biggest shopping center in the West part of Phuket. Besides a great shopping, there are many nice restaurants nearby just outside the Mall. It can be very crowded and crazy traffic going there from Kata. It is near Patong beach and it would take approximately 15 mins without traffic from the apartment.

Central Patong Phuket
9 Soi Rat Uthit 200 Pi 1This is the biggest shopping center in the West part of Phuket. Besides a great shopping, there are many nice restaurants nearby just outside the Mall. It can be very crowded and crazy traffic going there from Kata. It is near Patong beach and it would take approximately 15 mins without traffic from the apartment.
Food scene
A Bistro offers a full range of dishes from salad, pizza, and pasta to fish and main courses in a french deco. There are full selections of wine menu. You can also buy bottles of wine from here.

You will find Pomodoro restaurant on your right hand side. They also do delivery through ‘ Food Panda’ application.

This café down at Kata beach, offers a nice Italian coffee with a coffee bean from the North of Thailand using an imported Italian coffee machine. If walking from Kata beach, you will see an elephant statue, turn right and keep walking and you will see Italian Jobs cafe at the corner of the intersection.

I love coffee and I love Starbucks. There is one at Karon beach and another one in the Home Pro village at Chalong intersection. The one at Karon beach is on the inner road behind Club Med. It is located between Kata and Karon Shopping street.

This smart bus starts from Phuket international airport to Rawai beach and stops at 12 stations along the way, almost every beach at the west coast: Bangtao beach, Surin beach, Patong beach, Karon beach, Kata beach and finally Rawai beach.
The rate is from 50 Baht for the shortest distance and 170 Baht for the longest ride. You will need to buy a refillable smart card onboard to pay the fare. Refilled can be purchased at designed shops or restaurants around the Island. More information is available online.
