This Zoo has been open for over 100 years in Memphis. The famous lion roar at the beginning of Classic MGM movies was recorded at the Memphis Zoo. It has almost 80 acres with 3,500+ animals representing 500 different species. There is a tram and some indoor spaces as well as strollers and wheelchair rentals. Plenty of food and drink and gift stores available on site.
