Food scene

So a German market pops up in Birmingham City Centre every year and it’s definitely a must visit. Delicious food, mulled wine, imported beers, lovely little trinkets and souvenirs to buy. It’s only a 5 minute walk from my apartment so make sure you check it out.

Brindley Place is a 4 minute walk from my apartment and is home to lots of lovely bars and restaurants. If you like Italian food, go to Carluccio’s, and if you like Thai food, try Siamais, but there’s lots and lots of delicious food on offer there.

Nightlife

Bars, clubs, & anywhere that’s great for drinking, dancing, and partying.
If you need to spend a night out drinking and dancing there’s no better place to be than the Arcadian. It’s home to many different bars and clubs that play a range of music that includes house, rnb, hiphop, bashment, afrobeats, & pop.

Broad Street is one of the most famous roads in Birmingham. It has it all; bars, clubs, food, a supermarket, a comedy club, and even a cinema.

Do you like to laugh? If so then go to Just The Tonic Comedy Club while you’re staying at my apartment. It’s literally a 5 minute walk!

Sightseeing

Fancy a nice romantic boat trip along the canal!? You can have one at Canalside which is only a 4 minute walk from my apartment. FYI it’s a little known fact that Birmingham actually has more canals than Venice!

Sutton Park is 2400 acres large and about 6 miles from my apartment. It has open heathland, woodlands, seven lakes, wetlands, and marshes - each with its own rich variety of plants and wildlife, some rarely seen in the region. Cattle and wild ponies graze on the land. To visit it, get the train to Lichfield Trent Valley from Birmingham New Street (platform 7 or 8) and get off at Sutton Coldfield,

You might not know this but Cadbury’s chocolate actually started in Birmingham. They have an amusement park dedicated to it in the city which is a great place to take your children for a fun day of chocolate tasting. It’s 5 miles from my place and slightly tricky to reach so I suggest you get an Uber there.

If you’re into history then you definitely need to check out the Birmingham museum, it has dinosaur skeletons, historic paintings, Egyptian relics, sculptures, a mini museum especially for children, and more

Shopping

Need to do some shopping? This is the place to be. It’s one of the biggest in the UK and has everything you could want from clothes, food, electronics, beauty products, and anything else I’ve forgotten to mention. It’s less than a 10 minute walk from my apartment.

Getting about

If you’re staying in my apartment you’ll be in the heart of Birmingham which means most things will be within walking distance and you shouldn’t really need to pay for public transport. However, if you do, you will need to take a 5 minute walk into the city centre to get either a train from New Street Station or a bus. The main bus stops are on Moor Street Queensway, Colmore Row, & Corporation Street. However; I honestly recommend you get an Uber to anywhere that’s outside of the city centre as the average price will be about £10-15 and it will be much quicker than waiting for buses and trains
