Fabulous neighborhood French bistro. I recommend the mussels and frites and a glass of white Bordeaux. Perfect!

One of the 'Uptown Trinity' (the three best restaurants where the locals go---not tourist traps--the other two being Clancy's and The Upperline, which is a two-block walk down Pitt street to Upperline). I like Gautreau's because I once owned it until our manager, Patrick Singley, wanted to have his own restaurant....and of course, we let him buy Gautreau's! Great ambience and a really special place!

I like Gautreau's because I once owned it until our manager, Patrick Singley, wanted to have his own restaurant....and of course, we let him buy Gautreau's! Great ambience and a really special place!

The chef and front of the house guys from Peche (James Beard award-winning restaurant downtown) teamed up to create this fabulous Spanish restaurant. Our food writer, Tom Fitzmorris, told me this is his favorite new restaurant (of many) opening in New Orleans in 2019. We LOVE this place! Lots of tapas and paella, too!

Specifically, the Bougligny neighborhood, in the heart of Uptown, is in our opinion the best place to live in New Orleans! You are one block from the streetcar, three blocks from the parades during Mardi Gras, a fine streetcar ride to the Saints and Pelicans games, the French Quarter, the WWII museum and everywhere, it seems. We Uber/Lyft home.
We are also a few blocks away from some of the best restaurants in the city and a great neighborhood bar, The King Pin; 3 banks, a wine store, a dry cleaner, a pharmacy, the best hair salon in town (Paris Parker), St. James cheese shop, etc., etc., etc. Please explore our area.
