Things we have actually done. Because this is our family home, we tend to do the same things and have not ventured into all the amenities offered. There are definitely more available, we just have not personally tried them.
Good spot to grab a drink and check out the slopes and scenery. Outdoor seating available. Food is standard American food- it's OK, not amazing. Open year round.

Driving Range available here, it has Stunning Mountain View and the Dog Shack, which is a spot for ice cream an libations. The Woodstone Course is a bit of an easier course if you are like me and lack the patience and practice of the more challenging course.

Luray Caverns
101 Cave Hill RdA nice cool cave, great spot if its warm out. Worth seeing at least once.
Longish hike (3.6 miles), but easy going. Ok for kids. Follow the creek, lots of waterfalls. No grand overlook, but the trail is beautiful in its own right.

Really neat local cavern, maintained by the town of Grottoes. Not as famous as Luray, but still very nice. They are also about $10 cheaper per person than Luray. So it's a good options if you are looking for something neat to do for the day.

3.7 Mile Loop. Stunning views of the Shenandoah Valley. My guidebook says easy, but I remember it being quite a cardio work out. I would call it moderate, but I was probably out of shape- so take that with a grain of salt. This is popular and can be quite busy.
This hike starts near the north entrance to Skyland Resort off Skyline Drive. At the turn you will see a sign indicating this is the highest point on Skyline Drive. This turn is at milepost 41.7. Immediately after turning toward the Skyland Resort turn right into the parking for the Stony Man Nature Trail.

If you are planning on the following: Skiing/Snowboarding, Tubing, Waterpark, or Horseback Riding. I would check the Massanutten website and see if you can purchase tickets in advance. These do sell out regularly.

You must drive most places. Public transportation is quite poor. Uber is around more so than Lyft, but the options are dramatically limited since the pandemic.
