Cocowalk is the shopping heart of Coconut Grove, a historically interesting, artsy community just South of downtown. There's plenty of shopping and meandering to do there, plus plenty of restaurants and bars to check out. There are also some parks on Biscayne Bay close by. If you drive South and take Old Cutler Road, you get into lovely old areas with banyan tree covered roads and beautiful, original homes.

You can also find movies at Lincoln Road Theater, Sunday farmers market, and the beach close by. Brickell City Center is right near the Miami River in downtown. It's a major mall with multiple levels, high end shops and a variety of restaurants. The architecture and ambience are definitely worth the trip. The metrorail and metromover go near there, but parking under the mall is also easy.

For those that want more natural food shopping, we have a Whole Foods down river from us in downtown. They do have cheap parking under the building, but make sure you are entering the parking garage marked for the Whole Foods. You can also take the train there.

Many tourists go here but not enough. When this estate was created by a tycoon from Chicago in 1915, fully 10 percent of Miamians at the time were employed in building it. It is spectacular, historic and right on the water in Coconut Grove.

Much more than just an art gallery, this is a world class collection on three floors of contemporary art. The de la Cruz family have made their collection highly accessible to the public. It's free, the docents are amazing and will give tours, and it has regular open hours. Highly recommend this place and it's right in the Design District, which is very walkable.
