Just take your time, and rest along the way. HUGE payoff at the top with panoramic views of Oahu's coast! middle section is a railroad ties "bridge"...go to the right for alternate route. Much easier going down than up! Plan on at least an hour up, 30 minutes to enjoy the top (some people bring a picnic lunch) and 30 minutes down. 2 hour total. Go EARLY for cooler temps. I've hiked this rain or shine, can by a bit slippery, but still OK.
We are a local family who had a blast renting double kayaks and paddling out to the Kaneohe Sandbar. We did not choose to take a tour. Reserve online for better pricing. Arrive a bit early and park near the Gift Shop where you will sign wavers. there is a path down the hill next to the Gift Shop to the water's edge where you will launch the kayaks. You will receive a map of the area (with good snorkel spots) and receive instruction in basic kayak safety guidelines prior to starting out on the water. Bring lots of sunscreen- we didn't re-apply and got burned. Our kayak flipped twice and everything went in the water. Make sure you securely strap everything in. Shower and bathrooms available.
