The sandwiches are SO good! My favorite is the "Dill with It", made with fresh dill and cream cheese. All of the bread and cakes are baked on site, and they have great coffee and espresso. Plus they have outdoor seating. This place is a block away from you, you could easily walk there.

Bleu Boheme has beautiful ambiance, great for a romantic dinner. The food is excellent (French inspired). They have a wide variety of mussels, paté and cheese appetizers, and my favorite thing of all, their Basil Martinis. This restaurant is in Kensington, at the east end of Adam's avenue.

This cafe has simple, yet delicious food. It's not expensive, and it's a great place to have breakfast and coffee. You can sit outside and enjoy the view of Kensington park. My favorite is the "Tree-Hugger" breakfast.

The coffee is specially roasted on site. This is a popular place to hang out and drink good coffee. I recommend this place if you like to people watch, and make conversation with people. This place is very close by the apartment, just south on 30th.

This is a very popular restaurant. It has been highly rated for a long time. The food is great, and it's decorated like it's in the French Quarter in New Orleans. If you like live music, call ahead and see what's happening there. The music is usually pretty good!

This little Kensington market is like a Farmer's market (every day). All of the fruits and vegetables are locally grown & organic. The produce is so much better than traditional supermarkets, and the prices are not bad at all. Plus you can order smoothies, fresh-squeezed juice, and even order an espresso there. They offer dining tables too. I always tell my guests they should shop there first, then go to Von's supermarket for whatever else you need.

The buildings were erected for the 1912 World's Fair, and the Spanish-style "edifacios" are architecturally beautiful. There are tons of museums in the park, and it's right next door to the San Diego Zoo. Balboa Park is about a 10-minute drive from you.

You can't come to San Diego and miss Balboa Park! It's our version of Central Park. The buildings were erected for the 1912 World's Fair, and the Spanish-style "edifacios" are architecturally beautiful. There are tons of museums in the park, and it's right next door to the San Diego Zoo. Balboa Park is about a 10-minute drive from you.
This famous hotel was featured in the movie, "Some Like it Hot", with Marilyn Monroe. It's just a beautiful, victorian hotel, right on the Coronado Beach. There you can dine, shop, or just walk around. The town of Coronado is very pretty too, and it will give you an excuse to drive over the Coronado bridge.

There you can dine, shop, or just walk around. The town of Coronado is very pretty too, and it will give you an excuse to drive over the Coronado bridge.

They have personalized license plates all over the walls, and if your lucky, you can sit in the front seat of a sawed-off VW Bus and have your food. Everybody loves Hodads!

These pine trees only grow in this location. Make sure to notice how long the pine needles are. There is a cute little museum at the top. The view from there is breathtaking.
Pacific Beach is where all of the college kids and young adults hang out at the beach. There are plenty of shops and bars in the area.
